You said 7 minutes at 450 but temp would be 130. I did that and my temp in the meat was not 130 so decided to cook 2 more minutes too cooked , got to medium, not rare at all

0:22 Wrong. Never let the steak come to room temp then it takes up moisture from air because the fridge keeps the air dry inside. For great crust salt your steak and then throw into hot but not blazing pizza oven like hot pan. The salt will make the great crust and repeatedly turn your steak every 30 seconds and finally finish it in oven till you get your required done ness. This whole tasty video is full of wrong tips. Dnt ever trust them. Trust science

@chadwaggoner9709Thanks so much for sharing!
@chadwaggoner9709I followed this exactly and on the first side of the sear, my steak burnt severely. I don’t understand what I did wrong.
@stephaniebarilaro3929❤
@JonathanGonzalez-lp8qcthis is ridiculous. A medium rare file is around 118 degrees. They have this wrong
@l.h.tnguyen4916Thank you Tasty first time doing this it turned out great! I always felt like you said intimidated by it not anymore! Just melts in my mouth thank you again and God Bless You!❤
@prayerwarriorlady70tried to follow instructions pretty close, put way to much salt on the meat, did the 3 minutes each side, oven 450 for 5 minutes and was way over cooked but tasted okay for now
@artparma2The problem with these "simple" tutorials is that they never cover common mistakes. Followed the instructions perfectly and ended up with a burnt steak. I'm guessing I added too much oil or had the temperature too high. But the way to cook Filet Mignon perfectly is to actually show the full process and talk through it in more detail.
@CVBrennanreplace oil with beef tallow for better beef flavor. Grapeseed oil is not normal for the body to digest.
@FCdrmmrI am a 19 yr old college student. Cooked my first steak ever. It turned out really delicious. But. I had a huge learning moment today. My pan was wayyyy tooo hot and when I added oil it caught fire. I have been cooking easier dishes for a while and such thing never happened to me. Luckily I didnt get hurt and didnt burn anything around me. My fire alarm went off. I clean up and tried again with a lower heat and only heated it for like a minute which was enough. It worked well but my fire alarm still went off which was rly annoying. I think the cooking fan in college student apartments are way too weak. I am glad in the end it turned out great and all my efforts paid off. My guest loved the steak too. Thank you for the recipe
@dnz9601This completely torched my steak
@ice.wolfxoIf you’re cooking solely based on time and not doing any temperature checks you will never have the result you want
@beastcontracts8230Such a comforting and inviting dish. I'm always looking for new ideas, and this is perfect.

@FreyaClarke-t5xI can't wait to try this out! Thanks for sharing such an easy recipe.
@OliviaSmith-u4zOverall good but DO NOT!!! heat the pan for 5 minutes. When you put the oil in, it will set on fire in a few seconds. At minimum you’ll end up with a ruined pan at worst a burned down house.
@Gabriel-vm9fiShe sounds like that ChatGPT AI 😅
@CaptainDookiepostThanks so much…they came out perfect. Taste sooooo good. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
@TheSexy1049Everyone seams to love this recipe but, for me way to salty. The salt drown out the taste of the beef. Next time I will use 80% to 90% less salt.
@robertwatson5487Do we cook the filet in the oven in what?
@AleOsores4pfI once had filet mignon at a fancy restaurant in Chicago.
When I asked the waiter for some pepper. then I got to-go box papper.
Great vid !! It helped !!! 🥃🙏
@bosconibbles6777When you say the pan is over friendly, do you put the streak and pan straight into the over after searing?
@paulcoates208450 for 7 minutes was WAY TOO MUCH!
@bricktop7352DONT USE CANOLA OIL OR SEED OILS
@bricktop7352Yum- Looks delicious.!!
@hokinsont3681Extremely let down max the meat guys tutorial explains things much better, there “high heat” is very unreliable and i suppose it was actually made for not putting it into the oven with the cast iron.😢
@fish_supremacyFollowed this recipie and WOW! The filets were like hot butter, melt in your mouth. I baked them for 8 min, and still got med/rare. 👍
@danielmartinez3861Good lord! You didn't mention the smoke all over the house.
@isshinryu11No olive oil before seasoning?
@kokolovitch56I’ve tried this method a few times with my vintage 1930s cast-iron skillet, and I finally mastered it today! OMG I just made the most perfect filet mignon! I’m talking restaurant quality! Thank you so much for these clear and concise directions!
@OneTrendSnobPerfect, no B.S. recipe! Followed this and had a fantastic Fillet!! Thanks.
@winexprtback again for review time love me a good filet mignon
@snethansWorst oils on earth
@n8roself865Thanks!
@noahlesternYour gonna help me alot
@UriahMacdonald-pt1huAvacado oil is better than seed oil, and smoke point is 550*. Right?
@richguitar93That is way too much oil! My goodness! There should be more butter than oil. Otherwise, great vid.
@beatrixbrennan1545You have a great voice for this!

@leecoleman822I gotta say, I'm no cook. I got the steaks at the grocery not knowing how in depth this actually is to cook it. I looked into how to videos and got terrified that I was in over my head. This video gave me everything I needed to know to cook this thing. Thanks and I subbed
