How to 'Grow' - The Hard Truth About Growth
Video Overview & Insights
Our societies are attached to a phrase which it can be a bit too easy to assume we understand. The talk is of people ‘growing’ and of having ‘grown’ which alludes to some kind of important psychological evolution and development. But what does ‘growing’ really involve? What is it we are developing a capacity to do when we so-called grow and what are we leaving behind? And, crucially, how might we train ourselves to grow a little more - and a little more quickly?

What we may essentially be pointing to with the idea of growth is the ability to stop responding to situations in the present through lenses unconsciously distorted by our psychological histories and, especially, the quirks and biases bequeathed to us by our invariably somewhat complicated childhoods…”

This video truly captivated me! The exploration of personal growth and how our past shapes our responses in the present struck a deep chord. It’s such a powerful reminder that evolving is about letting go of those old narratives and embracing new possibilities—thank you for this beautiful insight!

I do believe grow is the part that we never understand is happening to us. Every intraction with people, every look at the sky and etc..
I think grow comes from trying to exprience of aspects of life we are always afraid of or deny their existance.
i think growing is somehow a procces of unbelievable amount of changes rather than being a act of or a metaphor for doing something.
But hey that is only a opinion.
Sorry for bad english

I've been in the same situation myself often enough and it's hard to make a difference. Thanks for the good video. Cheers

@coffeestain8147After hurting one of my best friends quite deeply, though unintentionally, through saying the wrong thing and not taking them as seriously as they wanted to be taken on a pretty major topic, I've felt pretty horrible about myself for the past month or so. I've never had this experience before of hurting someone on such a profound level that the friendship might be completely destroyed due to my own stupidity. Seeing yourself in that light hurts a lot, when you aren't used to it. But this video really helped me realize what I already know. That growing as a person hurts, but that it is necessary to becoming a better person.
@fantasymind8899Beautiful! As always 🎉
@sarayusarayu832Hard truths cut both ways.

@caffeinated_racoonCheck out videos on dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT.) That's pretty much what this video is about.
@pope400Never disappoint as always ❤
@Bella11264The visual aids used in this video effectively conveyed the ideas expressed. They facilitated my understanding of how my own personal growth is occurring through the gradual development of self-awareness, particularly in response to challenging experiences in my life.
@thespiritualseekI am fragile and I am in need of severe remolding , thankfully I can admit this. Such simple things make me cry as a young child and what a wonderful world it is to allow me this
@robertoadame2163I think for me the biggest aspect of growth is accepting the truth is a multifaceted thing, each perceives trough the lense of their own expiriences, thus two paradoxicaly opposite views on the same thing or person can be both true at the same time.
@TheIncredibleHiebAccording to the school of life, every problem we have with ourself is related to our childhood, thats a bit odd sounding.

@kallepallander4478Growth might require letting go of some things
@SuccessMindset2180There is a concept I've never heard before until a few days ago. Shoshin.
This term refers to the attitude of the pupil. The one who's learning for the first time.
Interest, curiosity, excitement! But also humility, patience and desire for growth.
Thanks again for an amazing video!
The best advice I have gotten is "If you are uncomfortable in your current comfortable state, you are growing and need a new space"

@reservoirfrog1long story short we can be fucking wrong at times so just accept that and move forward with different moves
@honeycheesechipsI wish i focused on having a family now im a 41 yr old single guy
@Mannsy83I have self hatred and avoid relationship in general due to involuntary actions and neurodivergency, which often times is a fundamental difference in thinking from what everyone else has, and often times in a negative fashion. Worse is that most try to say neurodivergency doesn't exist or just "not trying hard enough" or some other bs that makes relationships nearly impossible (especially with RSD).
@jesselasalle5104You're correct
@Syco108💛
@carolinaleal6059It feels like the illustrator was influenced by "Pookie" Ivy Wallace, as his wings were stunned when he was ridiculed but grew when he found acceptance and love. ❤️🐇🧚♀️
