not gonna lie, i just want to learn c++ java and javascript and i came to this video because it was highly recommended by many people on the ⭐internet ⭐ and it not only taught me where and how i should start coding, it showed me how to live life in a way i dont know if that was intended as a secret message but you showed me that i can practice all of those things you said outside of coding and implement them in my daily life/routines thank you. i hope i will start liking to code as much as any other person :)

I've tried coding for 6 months and I've made 0 progress. This is my last video about coding I'm watching and I've have up😢.

That last point was what pushed me to go back to school to get my Ai software engineering degree. I even gave up all my other CS credits to do it. Now im learning python. I taught myself HTML like 19 years ago (damn thats fucking crazy..... myspace was 20 years ago wtf?)

I dabbled in javascript and perl and gave up when i encountered C#

Back then i wanted to learn python and everyone told me it was a waste of time and a language for lazy devs. Guess what?

Im getting paid to go back to school to learn Python at 33. And im already ahead in my classes.

I realized i already AM a coder im just our of practice. Im basically just getting credentialed so i can actually work in something i do as a hobby!

I happen to be extremely smart. But me being gifted and having a 167 IQ didnt pay for shit.

It was the skills i learned.. the jobs i put on my resume. The leadership positions i took. Looking at other people and learning what NOT to do and how NOT to be.

When ur a non degree holder with a 167 IQ its like a nightmare. Ur basically babysitting a buncy of overgrown delinquents and burn outs who constantly call in sick and challenge you.

People call you a f*ggot cuz apparently compotent equals gay to the average person.

All those knuckleheads wanted to party but i couldnt see what they were so eager to escape from none of them worked particularly hard or had any kind of skills that were valuable. I had bosses who literally just blamed shit on me and took credit for all my hard work. Who refused to believe we were excelling.

I had a boss who couldnt believe our liquor cabinet was on point. Id do inventory and shed freak out not because shit was missing but because the spread sheet balanced. She was convinced something shady was going on..
I think the person before me was stealing liquor and when i came in and did an honest job she realized how much money our store was out.
Im a teetotaler. I rarely if ever drink. I knew id be ok.

I think anyone else wouldve made the situation worse by picking a fight. I just let the green on the spreadsheet smile back.

When i graduate im gonna be competiting with 22 year olds who cry when u tell them to dress professionally. Who cant answer a phone. Who have no idea what to do when an app freezes. Who cant manually save a file or retrieve it. Who have no values and believe theyre entitled to six figures right out of graduate school.

Im gonna crush these wimps. And its not because of my IQ. Its because of my skills and discipline.

Coding isnt hard. Actually its sooo easy i didnt even know i was coding at 15 years old. I didnt even know what coding WAS. Thats how easy it was i thought i was just using the computer... i thought this was standard computer usage.

Most people cant use anything unless it has a sleek UI. Ask them to build an open source model or download pytorch and their brains melt. They need a tutorial for their entire life.

Most people think u have to learn code like learning a language. But have you actually tried learning languages, i know 3.

U dont memorize every word. U look tor patterns. And u spend the rest of your life picking up new things. U just learn enough to figure out how to convey your ideas and wants. Then over time you gain fluency.

Think about English. Most Americans dont have a rich vocabulary and communicate in memes and slang.

They dont know the entire English language.

I saw a 20 something melt down last week in English Composition a credit im retaking actually... i actually tested out on the accuplacer but i had to retake it again at my new school to get this specific AI centric degree. And this kid lost his shit cuz he had to write a rough draft a second draft and a final draft. He said it was too much and hes never had to write so much in his life.

Dude did everything wrong. He waited until the night before the deadline to do all the lessons and the final review. And he flunked. Now hes blaming the school.

This is 2nd-5th grade stuff my guy. Smh. He couldnt even figure out how to save his work because the app didnt save it automatically. It didnt occur to him to use MS word or Pages hit save then copy and paste into the school terminal..

He didnt use spell check. No grammarly..nothing.

This associates degree the entire first year is basically artihmeric (elementray school math) and elementary school level English. Its so simple its actually borderline insulting but its necessary because i have to prove i can function as a basic adult because MOST people are like this moron.

Coding is great and if u really wanna learn it you absolutely can. But u need to have discipline and your weird leftist values where u skirt accointability always is just not gonna fly. This SJW everything goes mentality is just NOT gonna work because computers quite frankly dont understand your constant feelings.

The traceback will tell you that youre wrong and exactly where you got it wrong and how.

And this guy actually wrote a 7 paragraph reddit post to complain about a 5 paragraph essay with the caveat "im not looking for criticism right now"

This is how you lose. This is how myths are born. Why everyone thinks coders are all geniuses.

Most coders are barely above average but theyre not genius level. The genius gets filtered into higher roles.

If you can write an essay you can code. But if you cant?

I'm sorry, this wasn't helpful at all. This feels like a motivational video for people who have already started. It taught me absolutely nothing about how to write code, what coding terms mean or do, and I wasn't shown examples of code that would provide a function in a program. Nobody seems to do very straight forward teaching.
