Everyone else seems to do a long first fry and a shorter second fry. How did you come to discover your idea to reverse that technique?

Why are fries fried twice?: (0:33)
Why are french fries boiled?: (1:20)
All that prep , the potatoes, the time, the oil and everything just makes it pointless. Much easier and more cost effective to go to the best local fast food joint to get your fries for 5.
Why boil in vinegar?: (2:20)

McDonald's doesn't do it this way and their fries are perfect

After watching a bunch of videos, this is the single best recipe and process.
@snort455If I want to batch make and freeze, at what stage I could do that?
@khwajafatmi5882What kind of animal uses peanut oil for fries
@thomasmccann3679to be clear I can prep these today by getting to the first deep fry step, freeze them and cook them when I make your 20 minute fried chicken sandwich recipe?
@lwilson5151I boil my potatoes in a bowl in the microwave. I start with cold water and stop as soon as the water comes to a boil. I then place them in a salad spinner to remove water and then into the fryer.
@rpn000rpncaAverage home cook can't hand cut potatoes as quickly as a professional cook. I suggest putting the sliced potatoes into a bowl of water as you slice them.
@rpn000rpncaBest french fries ever, thank you mate
@lyssix6203Thought I might make some fries for dinner. Looks like I’ll just go pick some up at any near by fast food joint and save some money and sanity.
@Rat.patrolThe best thing you can do to improve your french fries is skip this video
@YungassPadawan400 degrees?!!!!
@timoooo7320i did not use vinegar and it still tuned out perfect
@ifemideestatesthanks
@ToasterOC-e2nwill the sauce taste nasty without the sirarcha? Because I don't have it
@νιλ.υζερBrother... I just made these fries. My mind is blown - I had no idea you could make fries better than any restaurant fry I have ever had.
I froze mine after the first fry and the next day was able to fry up a couple batches and put them in a warm oven while I made smash burgers. INCREDIBLE fries even after sitting 10-15 minutes while I built 3 burgers for my family.
I love how you explain the difference between boiled and none boil fries
@gapingbuttholeToo much work I don’t like FF that much.
@yassloghanything u make at home is better than McDonald.
@Jadiex18I will not add vinegar in the boiling water, because it will add sourness
@AdrianQaiserSo I could have skipped my ice water bath? 🤔
@camillecrichlow8138you are the best
@yousufalhinai3000Can I use olive oil. It's all I have
@sanAngelotexas66Do you have to let them sit for 30 or can you get away with 15 or so?
@RedMouseTvOfficialI am in the process. Allowing the potatoes to cool down after the boil. This is a LOT of work. There is a McDonalds within walking distance. Awfully tempting. 😁
@BruceEEvans1i been doin it wrong
@s0mdumb9uydo NOT click on 2:23
@zYazn"sprinkling salt"
@devonsterner6880Hello, I am wondering what to do about the oil that cools down quickly. Please help me. When I heat the oil to 205 degrees and then add the fries that I previously took out of the freezer, the oil automatically cools down, and its temperature drops to 100 degrees. Instead of frying them for 4 minutes, I end up frying them for 12-13 minutes because after the temperature drops, it takes a long time for the oil to reach 205 degrees again. What is the problem with the oil cooling down? I set the stove ring temperature to 9, which is the highest setting.
@eeee11241Well, that's certainly not a bad way to make them if you aren't lucky enough to live in Belgium, where it's the national dish, has been perfected for ages now, and where almost every household has a dedicated device specifically for making french fries and other deep fried specialties. Although we're slowly switching to air fryers lately for health reasons. A bit more challenging to make decent fries from scratch in those, but there are some great air fryer fries for sale in the freezer aisle of our supermarkets.
@EvenTheDogAgreesMan this is the oil method we need a oil-free method to get them crispy, there's already oil in all our foods
@ShouldaWavedFor the first try everything turned out good, but for the second try my fries turned out really sour. I guess my vinegar was too strong. Oh well, my appetite is ruined.
The recipie takes too much time. Not worth.
