How much I would love to see the recipe of a delicious type of "Dry pound cake" that I bought many years ago at the Jewel food stores in Chicago. I have looked all over youtube for anyone making this special type of pound cake and found none. To describe it, I loved the bright yellow color and the strong vanilla flavor, but the best of all was its silky, specially sticky dough which stuck all inside your mouth and tongue and made the flavor last longer while you had fun passing it for the next bite. it was very dense, with no pores in the dough. you dunk it in coffe and I remember coffee did not soak it so dense the dough was.

If you know the recipe it be great, the one I picked up at the store was industrialized, but it was unique. Since then I have not seen another one anywhere. I hope you know it, and how to make it.

I use this recipe and make strawberry poundcake instead of strawberry shortcake. Top with whipped cream. Even great with a caramel topping and of course some ice cream on the side!

Could you substitute greek yogurt for the sour cream?

Worked great! Maybe I overmixed it just a bit because I was adding flour in batches, however it still looked and tasted soooo good :D Little tips and tricks with pretty detailed description also helped along the way. Thank you!

Hi everyone, just hoping for some honest local insight please 🙏
I’m looking to get a feel for Cambridge Park, particularly around Campton Ave, and would really appreciate hearing from people who know the area.

As a parent, my main considerations are safety, the general vibe of the neighbourhood, and whether it’s a good environment for raising kids. Also interested in thoughts on local schools, parks, and the community overall.

Not here to judge at all — just genuinely looking for balanced, real experiences (good or bad).

Thank you so much in advance 💛

How come this recipe only use 113 gram butter which is only half of the other recipe?

Also, the sugar here is 300 grams while the previous one used 200 grams?

I didn't know that about pound cake (the history of it). Thanks for showing the amounts of everything and how things look (like the butter). I hate to run across shells! You have a lot of whisks; I'm lucky I have one fairly decent one. I also use a separate bowl for eggs! I'm always amazed that you can throw something in and it's Right! Do you have a special book with instructions, hints, suggestions?

My grandmother made this cake with ground almonds in it as well, it had a lovely almond taste. I have never managed to make it like she did, she didn’t have recipes and made everything without weighing. I would love to know how she made it, she passed away a long time ago😢

Is there a different between this and your other pound cake video?

First off - love this channel! Quick question - I am new to baking and made this recipe - it turned out beautifully and the cake is delicious. But I had a tough time creaming the butter in the mixer at the beginning. I just bought a Kitchenaid Artesan mixer, and let the butter sit all day in a comfortably warm kitchen, but it just balled up into a blob inside the whisk when I tried to cream it - it was constantly trying to pry it out of the whisk - I even adjusted the height of the mixer so the whisk just touched the bottom of the pan - still would not really cream the butter. Eventually, I gave up and just added the sugar, and that seemed to help. Once I added the eggs, everything blended nicely. I'm wondering if it is my choice of butter as it did feel kind of sticky when trying to cream. I used European style butter, and I know that has less water and more fat - I'm wondering if that was the problem - I'd be grateful for any suggestions!

Isn’t it too much sugar? I used only 120 grams of sugar, still it turned out a little more sweet. Is the sugar used in the recipe is less sugary?
