How to RELAX your ACCENT | Part 1 | Connected Speech & Linking in English

Video Overview & Insights

This lesson is PART 1 of a series of English lessons created to help you reduce your accent and communicate more clearly in English.

Even though we are talking about REDUCING your accent in this video... HAVING an accent is not a bad thing! What part of your accent do you love most? Do any native English speakers complement your accent? What do they say?!! 😍

— @mmmEnglish_Emma

This is SO IMPORTANT to build your confidence speaking in English and increase your fluency. Improve your pronunciation and increase your listening skills, so that you can understand fast-talking native speakers.

Note: My video lessons are created to help English learners to improve their pronunciation and speaking skills. Please note that the pronunciation of some of these words differs between English accents. I speak with an Australian English accent 🙂

Yes, 😊 I am amazing! I fully agree with Emma, you are right!

Prepositions are one of the most frustrating parts about English - but they don’t have to be! I’ve created a course that will help you to master the most common English prepositions - I’ll teach you how to use them in context, study how they are used and (importantly) I’ll help you to practise using them! Thank you for the lesson 🙏 Btw can someone tell me how to do the transition from Th to S in South Side as I used to take my time to do it, but she seems to drop the Th, so is that how it goes?

I'm Dutch and my english used to be a lot smoother than now I'm older. Turns out that I'm not relaxing my accents as much anymore. Dutch doesn't schwa a lot, and especially consonants can get really harsh. Back to practising.
