Stopping translating English into one's own native language is a very gradual process. You cannot turn it on/off instantly. I am speaking from experience. My native language is Russian. In my opinion, thoughts have no language. One expresses thoughts into a language.

That's not just good advice for English but any second language. Unfortunately, it's easier said than it is to do. As a native English speaker learning Spanish, its hard to keep from translating first.

For one, we learn our first language audibly along with the visual action and not from written words that we already know. So that visual activation part is missing we instinctively want to translate.

You are a very patient and considerate teacher i think.

How to think directly???if we just understand while listening coz its not possible to communicate directly in english,im practicing english from last 1month,try to speak throughout my day if i feel good or not but trying to use to with it bit still my mind freezes,can you please help,my mouth wobble stop when i utter to speal

In our country Bangladesh🇧🇩, there are students who learn English during 12-14 years but they can't speak English. Because our curriculum teaches us English as a subject not as a language. Students memorize grammar rules and paragraphs, compositions, letters to cut a good result in their exam. This education system is so bad and unnecessary. 😔😮‍💨
