How to write like a human being, not a robot
Video Overview & Insights
Sharing my creative writing process to help you build your own.
Aside from writing, I really like solving equations.
Like the feelings it gives when I calculate and when the answer is right.
This is how we heal our minds and reconnect to our creativity. Possibly one of the most fun and accessible ways we can train our brains out of the "mental slouching" caused by unregulated AI and addictive social media apps.
Disclaimer: I'm not "anti-AI." AI is not going anywhere - and we're already learning to use it for good.
This was deeper than I expected. I have always considered myself a creative soul and I feel like I am losing it. I have a struggle with writing and creativity (curious to know if somebody else faces the same:
Italian is my native language, but for the past 15 years I feel like I have consumed more material in english and sometimes I think or write in english. Problem is, I don't feel like I writing well nor in italian nor in english (exactly like the Bye-lingual joke).
How do I understand which language fits best that reasoning or that writing? I have heard (not sure if it's real or fake) Murakami sometimes writes in english first and then translates, what do you think about this process?
But I won't let it replace human creativity. I believe you have something to say, something meaningful to share, and I want you to share it.
This is how we stay human.
Whenever I don't know how to start a story, I draw the image that came to me when I first thought of the idea of the story. It usually looks like a still photograph or a clip. Then I write a simple longline, then a poem in a couple of verses (there is a lot of imagery there), then a blurb (a short description of the story) and then I start writing. I don't know if this is someone's method already but I like to think it's like a blooming flower. So let's call it the Blooming method. It kinda helps turn those gears in your mind to be able to trust yourself and let go.
Much love

As a young writer myself, I get irritated a lot when people use AI to create stories. Like sure, it's okay to use it for research or check the accuracy of the grammar. But to create a story so alive using something that has never lived is wrong for me. I'm also irritated too when I get accused of using AI, and when I tried the humaniser, it just dumbed down all my creations into simple words that ruin my art.

You are a great writer coach bro thanks
@ekremyilmaz5072can someone summarize this video for me?
@Sh4rk-c8vI'm scared of meeting my feelings again while i detached from it so i could keep going in life if i wrote again I'll break I'll discover that I'm still wounded and i don't want to get back to that again but i miss my own voice so bad like I'm a lost kid wanting his mom's voice to lead him again to still be sure he's not completely lost yet
But thank you you have a great point you said wishing you continued success
Then : how to write like robot
Now : how to write like human
I like this James Charles better
@An_0rgonized_DisasterRight before this, I saw an add about asking hard questions (personal, mental situation kind) to Claude. It reminded me of a video that talked about the concerns of building personal connectiond with AI that led to obsession and actual manipulation, which is honestly one of the most unsettling things I've seen relating to the fact that AI mimics the feel of being around a human instead of something that's originally programmed to find info for you, not take your humanity.
@TomikokokokoMy go throught is just writing everthing which came in my mind
@UnScriptedOfficial-SI loved this video, it felt alive and very comforting. Thank you so so much. ❤
@radioburntThe flow of eloquence and lack of filler words tells me you're better than me so i am just gonna do as you say🙏🏻
@tamkeen1840It's really depressing to know that AI's are slowly replacing the capabilities of the human mind..

@CT-rr1noHey Josh, question for you, where do you “publish” your stories online? I’ve been looking for somewhere I can publish and have that final end step of saying “it’s done”. No more tinkering.
@Stream72It shows in this video, you have kept the spark alive.
Certainly, given me a better perspective to writing. Thank you.
but how do you start writing? what do you start with? how do you write the first line when you sit for the first time? where do you start?

@Medea-v6mcommonplace journaling also helps us to understand an idea better while still consuming contents. it forces us to stop, think and argue about something. i've been keeping a commonplace journal for a while, and it sparks my curiosity on certain topics + helps me curate my media-consumption better. am i still scrolling through my social media? yes, but i'm stopping more often to write down new insights & elaborate my own thoughts. why am i relate to it? do i agree/disagree? do i find any connection within my life?
it doesn't have to be long, or critical. it can be just a little "i disagree with this one, because..." or "lol this one reminds me of a book i read"
i found it as a small exercise before we go all in with writing down our own idea like a master essayist. great video btw!
AI writing is not alivee!
@ThoughtsbyTullahI haaaaaate editing so what I do is I call it the "enjoy my own work" step where I just reread it a bunch of times and enjoy my own work. Inevitably, because I have good taste, I'll just notice parts that aren't working and I'll fix it.
This also helps a lot because if I go into a draft knowing that I'll edit it later, then I get all hung up on it for some reason, I don't really know why, I think its because it puts me in this mindset of doubting myself because I assume the first draft of my work can never be my best work (but sometimes it is).
I've been addicted to sending commands and letting AI write stories based on my ideas for a long time. Now I feel my mind is going blank. Time to quit and start learning to write again from scratch.
@keichandayyI will absolutely start to write again but I have one slight problem. I mainly write in English (as I study English in a foreign country) though I really do not feel that comfortable using the language naturally. However, I also do not feel comfortable using my native language for the writing process as I mainly do it in English. I tried to write in both languages to see the differences but they both have different problems and strengths. My native language is extremely messy while I cannot explain my thoughts clearly and naturally in English. I am confused on what to choose. I will need to see how it goes...
@tomato5250The number of views of this video is definitely going to experience an exponential increase at some point in the future.
@Darren-u1mI used to write 1000 words daily for my fanfics but then i got burnt out for one day and despite wishing to return to that practice, i now write that every other day. I am happy that i still hold the ability to craft my chapters without AI's aid but i still want to get better and return to my habits. =^-.-^=
@Svsss-f4nWatching this is really dystopian lol.
@dangarzanrip harlan ellison, you would've loved this guy
@wiirebonesIsso é incrível
@mjosieneHold up— what's going on in your place? 😭 This is the first time I'm hearing that people are writing like AI.... Nobody writes in such a manner in here, so I'm extremely sorry for being this ignorant...😢 The world is indeed going horrid.
@SakuraisucreamIs it just me or just EXISTING in this situation dominated generation demotivates me. Just thinking about how miserable this situation is becoming, about how humans are losing things that make them humans, about how people have no objections in accepting a technology that is ruining everything for us? I constantly think about this growing ai age and it just makes me sadder than ever, and whenever I remember the years of my life I spent without ai, i realise there was nothing that mine or anyone else's life lacked whether it be creativity, functionality, the ability to bond, the skill of talking to people, but with growing technology I feel humans are losing everything that made them human and not a robot. Sorry for the yap but I want to know it there are people who think like this too..
@aashi_isNo me gusta escribir con IA porque su narración se siente infantil ,cliché y no sigue la visión de lo que quiero contar
@AlejandroMoreno-i4fnot related to your vid but wow your eyes are pretty
@jnxm0I have been trying to build a writing habit and improve my skills for years. I always ended up frustrated by perfectionism, with endless edits and texts that no longer retained the main idea. This video saved me from that frustration, and I have been able to write five pages in a row. Thank you 💌
@vicente4448Good material, honest, useful. This is why i pay for access to internet. This guy = good vibes
@IsabelaV.DeCaroAai has really damaged us, our brains.
@AarushiSharma-s7qBecause many people tend to forget that they have their own thoughts thus, writing things down can help tremendously

I always feel alone. It's not just a feeling anymore. I can truly see it. It has become a certainty. my attempts, my failures, and every time I stand up again... I always felt that I was alone through all of it. I always wanted the people around me - my mom and my dad - to support me, but that never happened. They always saw and still see my dreams and my wishes as nothing more than silly ideas. That's why I've always wanted to tell them: just because my dreams don't make sense to you doesn't mean they don't matter. My soul feels like it's bleeding from the inside. No one seems to notice, and little by little, it's eating me alive. Every time a part of me goes dark, I somehow manage to light that tiny candle of hope again. My attempts don't always work, but even so, I keep trying to live whatever time I have left. I don't know how much time I have, but I do my best to hide the brokenness, the weakness, the failures, and the pain I'm carrying inside.Since the day I was born until today, all I've ever done is try... just keep trying.I don't know when I'll finally start living.
I never use AI, but I will still watch this hahahaha
@CynicalDioI don’t consider myself as much as of a writer but i just write about my thoughts and things that are bothering me and it honestly feels so good to see your writing on your diary . I sometimes also try to include cute stickers that makes it look more beautiful. But these days I see myself depending on AI for correcting my resumes , to Linkedin posts and it kinds of bothers me .
@niharika170This title wasn't supposed to exist in first place...... But here we are huh 😮💨🫤😖
