Would you say its worth making a facebook page for the band? I am paid ad guy so that's fine get all the ad stuff I just currently only use tiktok and was sort of cautious to spread my myself onto two social networks, I do prefer Meta as an ad platform. The question is are you just running the ad's without a FB Page / Insta and optimizing towards spotify streams? i see FM_Clicks

This is all rosy but after we ran Meta ads and got on Legit playlists Spotify Squashed our monthly listeners from 5,000 to 230 right off the bat. They say due to “Artificial Streams” of which they are 100% WRONG. We protested and showed them exactly how our first viewer were gained and their response was even META ads are considered “artificial” because they look for spikes and then if there’s not enough engagement you get SLAPPED. BEWARE people. We are scratching our head at how tf we’re supposed to promote our music when we can’t even run meta ads. Totally ridiculous.

How to do this without Spotify because it's the devil's work for musicians ?

My first release of 2026 is currently at 6K streams in 9 days with zero paid promo or playlisting 📈

I don’t have a website and only selected Spotify as the website, so supposedly anyone who clicks the link will end up there. I chose Traffic and a 23-second video — I’m an amateur, as you can probably tell. Is there anyone who can say whether these numbers look promising? If so, I could invest more than €20 per day. €20.00 Daily average-7-day click or 1-day view 28 Landing Page Views, Reach 811 - Impression 837, €0.12 Per Landing Page View, spent €3.26. I appreciate any feedback.

so your preference is to push a single song instead of a playlist that includes that song as the top song? I recently put out an 11 song album and I have put all the songs in a paylist and I want to run ads and I will run ads promoting one song from the album that sits at the top of the playlist. My thinking is to push people to a playlist with my song as the top song vs just pushing people to that one individual song

Hey Andrew, your videos have been really helpful. Something I can’t find is what amount of people actually end up saving a song from an ad. Using your advice I’ve been running a campaign that has about 1000 clicks and has gotten a fair amount of radio play, but only has about 600 saves. In your experience should more people who click the ad be saving it? I assume it’s lower than 600 itself because I hope some people from the algorithm are liking it too, just curious what others have seen and if I might be missing something.

@andrewsouthworth if I made 1 genre of music for 8 years and it got to about 100k monthly listeners at my peak, and 6K followers, can I pivot to an adjacent genre of music and find the same amount of growth and success? Or is the algorithm too confused and fixed meaning I am better starting a new alias?

I’m not seriously considering starting another alias because I have built this project consistently over about 10 years, but it seems like my listeners are less engaged now and I wonder if that’s because of the genre switch.

Context: I made chill beats and funky beats for many years, got playlisted on editorial. Now I make funky house and funky disco and seemingly get less streams

Why do Google Ads conversions stop as soon as I pause my ads? Don't new subscribers share their new favorite artist with friends? Why are there never any organic conversions after I pause Google Ads? Why can't I get new subscribers from just word of mouth?

Andrew, any thoughts on using URLGenius or similar deep link apps to improve listen rates on landing pages? IG/FB using their own browsers and trying to open songs within them is a huge issue.
