90% of songs go nowhere. You cannot scale for profit all the time. I put 1500 dollars in 10 releases and made about half back in first year.

Oh Man. I know Andrew suggested it was an R&B track I think... But without hearing the song, instruments, vocals, vibe, and knowing who the artist is (age), where they come from (metro area, church community, etc.) ,hearing the actual track, (vocal if there is one) & music, there's no real way to measure/judge/verify/qualify, etc. the information & results - I'm not suggesting any foul play here - just the information that enables a real understanding of what exactly is achieving these results ... Why would any artists prefer not to be noted or recognized for this success? No one is going to accuse Andrew of any sort of anything improper & I'm certainly not... How does one get around all of this and know "what" actually (what song, lyric, vocals, instruments, musicianship, artistry, etc.) is achieving these results & campaing numbers... It will never be apples to apples without knowing these essential facts - Perhaps it's nuts...

Awesome breakdown! Are these campaigns sending traffic to two different EP's (4-6 Tracks) or singles?

What is your strategy now that they're getting rid of dynamic creative soon? Are you just uploading all the creatives in one ad since it lets you add up to 10 now?

Would love to see what your save rate looks like once the algorithm picks up the song, before the algorithm kicked in my save rate was at 30% now that I’m on Spotify radio it has dropped significantly
Is that normal? Does it affect further algorithm pushing?

Can too much cold traffic from ads lower your streams‑per‑listener ratio and hurt your chances of hitting algorithmic playlists (like Discover Weekly)? I have some really good creatives that are doing well with a song getting around a 18% save rate, really good streams, good playlist adds, a popularity score of 38% but only stream/listener ratio of 2.0, i noticed songs in the past, I had creatives not do that well had lower overall stats but a stream/listener ratio of 2.5 and always hit discover weekly algorithm. I feel like i need to cut the ads by 30% to reduce cold traffic to make sure the stream listener ratio go up, the song is only 20 days with 38,150 streams and 19,050 listeners.

Hey thank you for this video.. Approximately how long are the videos that you ran the ads on and do you have another video on what makes a specific ad the "winner" and how many are ran at a time ?

case studies like this are useful but what often gets skipped is the compounding effect once Discovery Mode kicks in. when ad-driven saves push you past a certain threshold, spotify radio starts distributing you to listeners who were never in your ad audience - and that organic push is why the cost per stream improves over time if the song actually resonates.

the genre question below is real. genres with strong playlist engagement and tight 'related artists' clustering in spotify's graph get much better radio propagation. pop-adjacent and electronic tend to get wider radio reach per listener than more niche genres where the audience is intentional and less likely to follow through on radio recommendations.

Hi Andrew,
I have a campaign that performed really well, but it stopped because it hit the campaign spending limit.
If I want to double the budget and continue scaling, is it better to simply increase the budget within the same campaign and turn it back on, or should I duplicate/create a new campaign for the same track? Would love to hear your recommendation...

Be good to have a video on how you ‘pick a winner’ based on Spotify stats, I’ve seen great ad cost results, but that in itself isn’t enough is it? For instance, if a meta ad was running at $0.10, would you pour the whole budget in or would other metrics within Spotify give better signals on how to allocate budget (or stop funding it!)

So how much did you spent on the campaign? 7-8K?

Why does Jend’s method work with spending so much on first few days?

Thank you your tips . I would like you to make a video to show us how to survive against AI . And maybe talk about how to monetize our music … your opinion about all theses changes would be very useful…🙏

I have very similar stats to this artists in terms of active STL, algo STL (mine is actually slightly higher at least at the time of the first video), save and playlist rates, etc. I even started my music project at a similar time. I've triggered the algorithm consistently and get good radio engagement but my active streams as a percentage of total streams is more like 67% vs. this artist at 46%. They're obviously getting a much bigger algo push. I'm curious if you think it has anything to do with the EP release strategy (5 songs all at once) vs. I've been releasing one song a month. My listener base is also ~68k monthly vs. their 300k. I'm gaining steadily so I'm not complaining but I'm beginning to think EPs might be a better release strategy and more economical from a marketing budget standpoint.

Who made the creatives for the campaign? Was it your agency or the artist/label or both? How many creatives did you use?

@BrentLeVasseur

Curious how many Instagram followers they gained

@livaaispure1827

At what point does it become a good idea to turn off ads once the algorithm has been triggered? For example if my song is now at 70% algorithmic plays per day do just stop the ads and move the budget to a new release?

Hey man! Im independent artist from Brasil and your videos were very helpful to me. I always wonder what price you consider “ok” for a campaign to be successful in Brazilian money

@eupelupelu
@

That’s awesome!! Quick question, what do you think about duplicating an ad set as opposed to increasing to budget?

@HaddonMusic
@

Is it just me or Meta doesn't let you upload multiple ad videos on the same campaign anymore? I see they introduced a 'carousel' option but it isn't the same (nor does it make any sense)

Hi, Andrew! Great content, as always!! I have a question: we are a small rock band from Austria, Europe and for one of our singles we tried and build a meta campaign just like you did in your meta campaign explaining video. we had good visuals, a solid song, a bit of a momentum but we quickly realized that the parameters you show in your videos just don't apply to the european market that well. our conversion rate was horrible for example. I assume it has something to do with the size of target audiences, because those are very different in europe from the us. do you have expierence working with (west) european bands specifically? Or could you maybe compare those two markets regarding meta ads in a video highlighting the key differences?

@L8Alex
@

how much does the genre factor in?

@simoatso
@

Hey Andrew! For starters I would really like to thank you very much for your content! I have managed to grow my listeners from 0 to 32,000 in six month following your advice to the point!

1 question though that might be a video idea for you?

I'm getting GREAT Meta ad response, with CPC of 0,16-0,20. But everytime I try to increase the budget I only get increased clicks but not content clicks. The instans though here is that I have already hit all my potential listeners on a 15$ budget. But it seems strange as it massively increases clicks on the link. Are meta throwing me out to advantage+ crowd even though I've deselected it when it gets a higher budget and have no more "fans" or "look-alikes" to throw me out to?

@Fiddesan
@

My biggest question is this doesn’t keep fans or build a real fanbase. Soon as you stop running the ads the streams gonna drop and probably haven’t built anyone to care enough to buy tickets/merch.

So would you think it’s good to run ads to route to the Instagram page for example and let them make the choice of following and clicking the link in bio to stream?

@cliphapppens
@

Dude there are a million streaming companies Tidal,Apple,Deezer etc yet you constantly post these trash videos showcasing spotify as it's some leap into the new age. Spotify has lost users and subscribers, yet YOU constantly tailor videos to them . I guess 0.0001 cents makes sense for you and your campaign and personal agenda.

@gorgiodelmont1719
@

Yeah, I bet I'd have 300k monthly listeners if I had a monthly budget of $7800 too.

@CalebSmedra
@

Hey Andrew,

Thanks again for the breakdown — really helpful.

Quick one: if you’ve got three songs in play —

• one with low CPC that’s already performing strongly algorithmically
• one with solid data and engagement
• and a new release showing early signs it could perform well

How would you typically spread the budget across those?

One thing I haven’t really done yet is scale spend aggressively like you do, and I suspect that’s probably limited the algorithmic lift on my side.

For context, one of the tracks is sitting around £0.12 Tier-1 CPC with really strong repeat listens.

Would love to hear how you’d approach allocation in that situation.

Also sharing your video with my musician network — loads of value in it.

Cheers,
Nick

@samedemons

Great work Andrew! It really is amazing the type of results you can get when you have truly great music, content & a legit budget. Just proof spending on ads DOES work when it lines up. We’ve even been getting some .05-.07 conversions on a couple clients recently with T1/T2 audiences.. which just really opens my eyes up to what’s possible. Hopefully one of those folks are willing to do a 5k+ spend so I can share a case study for the industry too 🔥🔥

Always fire work man. Would love to chat sometime - Ely Waves

Do you ever see crazy numbers like this for niche genres like extreme metal?

@bombocletian
@

Discovery mode only takes 30% of the initial stream if your music is good they will save it and play it many times.

@kingmoreorless2810
@

Ok you answered my question. I agree with you in that spending a lot on day one is a bit scary because there is the learning phase etc. Jend's method is all about spending a hugge amount on day 1. But it is risky like you said.

@wavesonwavesmusic
@

I only have 125,000 monthly listeners - but my listens per listener is high, but the unfortunate thing is that I do not have access through DIscovery Mode through my distributor. But I think you are correct that if you are over 100,000 monthlies - and you opt into Discovery Mode - you can jump up to 300,000 pretty easily. One question I have is what was the bands ad spend on day one? Was it a consistent ad spend or did it fluctuate?

@wavesonwavesmusic
@

I made $4,800 in streaming this month. I built a machine where when I put in 1$, I get back $1.10. This is thanks - in large part - to your videos.

@wavesonwavesmusic
@

Really great breakdown! Thank you for the details and for sharing.

@chrisgoyzueta

Thanks for breaking this down for us Andrew, these numbers are insane.
I'm wondering if these numbers (CPC, streams numbers/per person) are even possible in a more niche genre (I have a progressive technical metal band).

@adavidcompo

So when running ads to a song, do you recommend running the campaign longer than a month?

when you say you never choose 65+ but it ended up being fine, is that because poor performance in a particular demo category can negatively affect performance overall? Or do you just mean that very little of the budget ended up being eaten up by 65+?
