I’m not certain why we or Carter would want a contract now. We could give him a fair contract, and his jimmies will be rustled the rest of the time he outplays it. The other option is that we can overpay based on his average results and be shocked that he doesn’t feel the need to play better than what got him the contract.

I'm keeping Ojomo and getting the huge return for Carter in a trade. There's potential he could bring 2 1st round picks. 5 1st rounders over the next 2 seasons would give Howie whoever he wants. Jeremiah Smith anyone? The money saved keeps more of this defense together. Carter is not worth the massive contract.

@Jonesy6-famJalen carter has had one solid year thats it. He hasn't proved he is worth a multi year deal im sorry. If they re-sign him they are paying him for potential. He has a decent amount of red flags. I would let him play this year out, hope he has a good year get his value up and trade him.
@brentontariocanada7935Howie cant hand out contracts based on possible ceilings for everyone disregarding all other aspects surrounding the player cause it’s about what he could maybe do… that’s insane. Simmons is a better player than Carter right now, has far better production, on a worse team, for far longer, with greater consistency & less injury issues while being far more reliable as a leader locker room guy. This idea Carter should get more guarantees than Simmons is a good way to wreck a franchise. eagles fans that don’t watch other teams may not like it… but Simmons is him in a conference with much better DT’s. Love Carter… he doesn’t deserve Simmons guarantees today

@HHH-ye1roWhy did Dave Zangaro say that $105 million over 3 years is not good enough for Carter? Jeffery Simmons has had a greater 5-year career. Carter has only had one very good year (2024). Simmons didn't get injured, whereas Carter did. If Carter had produced at the same level as Simmons, then I would say Carter deserves more than $105 million over 3 years.
@tom20152Can you guys explain, on an episode, exactly why Jalen Carter deserves a record breaking contract? Other than his first season, he has been middling at Best. Bad attitude, lazy. Shows up when he feels like it. Do you really want to sync record breaking money into somebody like that? Especially with all the depth we have on the line? If it was my money, I would spend it elsewhere. Lock up Cooper and Mitchell.
@HHH-ye1roRoob is completely wrong on Carter. Dude is already in the same caliber as Simmons. Carter was injured last season. That happens in football. However, you don't let talent like Carter get out the building. We all knew after 2024 Carter would reset the DT market. No need to get cold feet now.
@alonzabrown5345And that is the season he has to play the last game of the season because the backup QB could not win 1 game for us to make the playoffs. So Jalen played with a fractured throwing shoulder to win the game so we would go to the playoffs.

@jerryarmitage6709Let's get a few thing in order here...Outside of spitting on Dak ( who baited him) there have been no real issues with JC of questioning him on or off the field. Not giving him a pass but on the Dak situation but there are no issues with the Law, no issues of beating on anybody, no issues of 4-5 baby moms hitting him up for child support, no DWI or crazy speeding tickets. The 2nd biggest issue was Vic saying out of shape and thats because of the shoulder, which he was on the injury report at training camp and he played like 90% of the snaps the year b4 and they won a SB. Unless all kinds of crazy stuff is being kept in house paying JC is very much on board.
@hitmanchrisTrade Carter now while his Trade Value is still high and should be able to get a 2nd and 4th for him anc maybe even a 1st and 4th but whoever would acquire would to give him a big Contract so a 2nd and 4th is most likely in return

@chriscain4627Spitting on Dak really killed any early contract negotiations. The odds that jc gets paid elsewhere keeps going up. I would not be surprised if jc and Nolan are both on different teams in the future. Jc would bring in a haul of 1st rounders
