Netflix and Hulu are some of the biggest names in streaming today. But which is better? Which would you choose if you could only have one? Let's dive in.

Netflix or Hulu? Which would you choose? Or both? Comment and tell us.

----------

By the time you pay $4 on one then another and another it starts to add up. N,H D is costing $20 a month all together. I can’t afford to play for DiscoveryId Plus. Another $6. Lol.

— @111JenA

Did you know that Netflix accounts for 1/3 of all internet traffic? Yeah, 33% of all internet traffic! That is a huge amount of data from Netflix, it is huge.

In the past, we complained about price hikes from other streaming services. Netflix has gone and raised their prices several times in the last couple of years and did it again a week or two ago. Nobody bats an eye because, frankly, Netflix delivers a whole lot of value.

Actually I would give up both because I have Disney Plus Paramount plus and I'm getting Discovery Plus and honestly I walked more TV than movies

— @toad0007

Hulu still has a $6 package that you can subscribe to. So in a world that includes

both Netflix and Hulu if you had to choose just one, which ones are gonna be?

Right now I have both that I am trying out for certain reasons. I will make my decisions in the near future what is best for me.

— @dathyr1

Netflix is the big elephant in the room here, it's got 60 million subscribers just in the US, now if you break that down by population, well it's that's a different number.

Netflix Pricing & FREE trial:

HULU IS THE BEST

— @ITyourCHOICE

You have 30 days for free and then after that, there are three tiers to choose from.

The $8.99 standard definition tier is really not built for your modern TV.

I'm a Hulu person, love their library, they have great anime available as well.

— @Uli-Kun

Standard definition it's gonna look pretty bad and you only get one simultaneous stream at that tier. At $12.99 then you're bumped up to HD and two simultaneous streams.

And then for $15.99, you get Ultra HD and four simultaneous streams.

Every other non American resident goes Hulu ? (sadly)

— @snowatom

That Ultra HD is what's gonna look really great on your 4k TV.

I would just advise that you have at least a 25 megabit per second

I have both one of the best thing about Netflix among other things is it has better playback then Hulu Premium. Plus you can skip the intro or fast forward at the end of the show and it'll still go to the next episode without refreshing the page. I still get the one DVD in the mail......Yes!!!

— @MrDantte

connection to ensure that, that 4k content is coming through well.

There's also still a DVD version of Netflix. I think it's six or seven bucks a month and you can still get DVDs sent to your house as much as you want. It's great, you can even add it on to one of these other plans.

Netflix is better because of Narcos walking dead and all that stuff

— @jignavsharma

A million people here in the

US at least still do this.

Who doesn't have any CW shows but Netflix does have CW shows I know I'm watching Riverdale the hundreds legends of tomorrow flash green arrow add a lot of CW shows I also wanted to give up my original shows ozarka my my husband really like I love you stranger things

— @jignavsharma

Hulu has 25 million subscribers in the U.S. That's double where they were at in 2016.

Similar to Netflix, you can watch it on pretty much any device.

Netflix. Why pay for a streaming service with ads?

— @jimmyfaustjr6413

The exception is there's a live TV version of Hulu and that's a newer kind of app and some of the out-of-date equipment might not be able to handle it.

So as long as your Smart TV, Smart TV device or your phone or your computer or whatever as long as that's up-to-date then you shouldn't have any problem with any of the Hulu apps.

Can you get Hulu with a iTunes gift card ?

— @boozyoldies

Hulu pricing and free trial

The price again you're gonna get 30 days free with this as well.

I think when it comes to application and ui netflix is the winner but when it comes to content catalog hulu is the winner.

— @jaredtibayan7157

And then there are two main tiers; $5.99 with ads during your program.

It's $11.99 for no ads during your shows although with that just be

Legends be like I only have 3 electric outlets in my house 😂

— @thatoneasiandudetoad9322

aware you will still watch ads before and after some programs.

Now with both of those you only get one simultaneous stream so if you're watching

hulu has more anime

— @professionalclown69

and then somebody else in your household turns on a stream, it's gonna kick you off of there,

it can get a little bit annoying.

I’ve been watching Netflix for I don’t know how long and I really enjoy it. I just started watching Hulu and it is freaking awesome both streaming services have all the stuff I like to watch as far as movies and tv shows. Both are a good combo and go well together I usually start off something on Netflix and then go watching old cartoons like Gumball and Regular Show from Cartoon Network.

— @Mr_Mack88

If you go with the third tier which isn't quite comparable to Netflix because it's $44.99, you get Hulu with live TV, a bunch of channels, live TV it's great.

You get two simultaneous streams on that or you can pay 10 bucks a month extra for unlimited simultaneous streams.

Why am I paying for Hulu to watch commercials?? I thought I would try Hulu, and I did. Not much to watch but lots of commercials to watch. So going back to Netflix. Better layout and easier to navigate. Plus a whole lot more to watch.

— @kquinn0333

Hulu has the fresher TV content, so if you'd like to watch a little bit every

day and kind of keep up with stuff, it's gonna have TV shows the day after they air which can be very convenient if that's your style.

Netflix is better to watch ertugrul,either, moneyhiest, stranger things, Viking, sacred game

— @siddiquirashid5374

What they lack though are back catalogs. Netflix, on the other hand, is gonna have a lot of those if they're making an original they're gonna release a full season all at once, so it's more of a binge-style.

For original content, Hulu has a few standouts but only a few.

The group plan for these subscriptions it is cheap. if you can't find people to share an account with, you can use sharepremiumaccounts

— @jakerussel5861

The big one would be Handmaid's Tale it is fantastic.

But over on the Netflix side, they have a ton of them; Stranger Things, House of Cards,

I probably going to do hulu and Netflix. It's so difficult to choose. đŸ˜«

— @Periwinkleflower

Mind Hunter, Russian Doll, DareDevil, I probably didn't even say your favorite 'cause they have so many of them.

Hulu allows for add-ons like Starz, Showtime, Cinemax, and HBO. These are not available to add-on to Netflix at all. But you subscribe to their individual services and apps. It'll cost you between nine and 15 bucks to do that.

$80?!?! I was paying $120 with DirecTv with squat nothing included...

— @DumbNeptuneBacon

We're talking Hulu Live with no commercials and premium DVR and unlimited streams, plus adding premium Netflix on top of that, you'd come to about 80 bucks.

And 80 bucks is frankly nothing to sneer at that is a pretty high price.

I would give up Netflix I still love it

— @kingc4260

But if you can do that, if you can give up your live TV, you can get no commercials

Hulu for 12 bucks, HD Netflix for 13 bucks, that's $25 a month total for a ton of content.

I have Hulu, netflix , hbo , showtime , starz, amazon prime ,Disney plus , and espn

— @Sunshine_squishie

Now you can also drop both of those to the lowest tier available.

And it comes to 16 bucks a month not bad.

I got both but if I had to I'd give up Netflix I hate waiting for stuff to come out

— @shanechyba9976

Anyway frankly you should probably just get both 'cause like I said earlier you

can do it for pretty cheap.

I choose cinema free with real debrid.

— @llChrxsll

More User Perspectives

Hulu has better streaming quality, but Netflix is much more well optimized, where you can skip the intro of an episode, and hit the next episode button. Netflix has more shows, hulu has more anime. Netflix is better becuase you can find more shows. 2 shows i can recommend on Netflix is "Into the Badlands" and "The 100". 2 incredible shows. The only reason I have hulu is because I am watching naruto, and naruto shippuden is on hulu.

@dxrrxw
@

looking at the features that come with the prices... netflix is still worth it. $12 with ads? umh nah

@thatlazyengstud
@

The Gorilla in the room is Youtube TV

@pete49327
@

Lol I have Netflix, hulu, hbo now, DC universe, and Disney plus! With Netflix I have the big package, and with hulu I have add free and for all of this I pay roughly $61 a month

@ericmonnot8121
@

Netflix has more way more content, but Hulu has good anime, movies on Hulu aren’t the best tho

@joydamabel596
@

hulu is better, hulu only sucks if you have a basic plan with ads, no live tv, no ad ons. If you get it with no ads live tv and hbo,showtime,cinemax starz ad ons then its probably the streaming service out there. Netflix is cool but it doesn't offer as much as hulu does.

@hiphopmusic8943
@

awesome dude, I'll subscribe

@amandam5213
@

Netflix has better shows and you don't have to pay for the ads to be taken off

@carlosmendez2001
@

I have a love-hate relationship with Netflix, I miss it when I don't have it but as soon as I restart my membership I instantly regret it. Because anything I want to watch isn't on it or i just spend 45mins to find something to watch or just give up looking. what should I do?

@redladybug9180
@

Boycott Netflix, Boycott Netflix! It's our right as paying customers to share our passwords with whom we want. Maybe you should lower your prices, so people dont share. Sorry, mr Netflix CEO not everyone is a billionaire and can afford to pay for all of their accounts. Greedy bastards!

@JusDean
@

Binging is great and all, but it has one BIG problem which I like to call the Binge Over or Binge Hangover when you want more and haft to wait however with shows that release once a week or so they will seem to be coming out sooner I respect both but I prefer waiting it out weekly makes me enjoy the show more!

@thelknetwork1883
@

Will get Hulu when Hulu + Disney + ESPN launches for just $12.99 or I could get Netflix

@f0fuchsia742
