Hundreds Of French Toast Flavors Have Chicagoans Waiting Hours In Line At Batter & Berries
Video Overview & Insights
Batter & Berries was founded in 2012 by husband and wife Craig and Tanya Richardson as an eclectic brunch restaurant specializing in French toast. Over time, it has created over 200 different flavors of French toast that rotate as weekly specials. They consistently offer strawberry, lemon, blueberry, and caramel. If you canāt decide which flavor you want, customers can order the āFrench Toast Flight,ā which consists of four flavors of French toast that are available that day.
Been there a few times! The lemon is my favorite š¤©
Even during the pandemic, the restaurant still has lines for brunch and continues to offer pickup and delivery. Recognized by Eater and Zagat for their āmust-tryā French toasts, Batter & Berries has become one of Chicago's favorite brunch spots. Itās also listed as the best black-owned restaurant in Illinois in Travel Noire Magazine. The restaurant has become so popular that they are in the process of opening two more locations.

Do they really need to point out that this is a black-owned business? That's as racist as someone bragging about running a business as a white person...

@oopslater9352Pls Americans donāt talk about French. You never have a level which makes you worth to speak about.
The black guy is cool. Itās a shame he hasnāt a nationality or character as a guy from the USA
How sad that they use substandard industrial swill like Prairie Farms Heavy Whipping Cream. No thanks. I'll support establishments who take more time to use ingredients of high integrity.
@MrJeffreyDRAll the toasts are way too sweet like American's prefer. Great little place in Chicago.
@swanradhaTotally Amazing

@allthingsnn1955Super donutš©š©šš I love to see Black excellence, especially in the kitchen
@tee5705The French toast looks super-delicious. The chef's mask should be covering his nose at all times (in addition to covering his mouth).

@madladwhosvlad16If its one thing she is going to do is ask for that secret recipe
@undrtddrmzmedia3331I watched this 3 times... Then I figured it out! The chef is Jules from Pulp Fiction. He decided he was not going to be a hit man anymore in the diner. It came to me when he said his favorites are the specials. Because they are whimsical. I pity the mother fukker who tries to hold up his place.
