I Compared 10 Synthetic Oils… and the Results Were Shocking!

i wondered where my AMSOIL would fit . not cheap but at 10 000 miles the oil test kit results were great . RAM 2500 HD super crew used for towing and carrying forestry parts or equipment between -45 and + 90 no issues .

Walmart Tech is just fine if you change your oil at 5000 or less mile intervals , 10,000 miles is idiocy !

I will stay with the Motor Oil Geek Guru for oil advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No explanation of testing procedures. This review suggests that they took engines completely apart many times just for on oil and did it for each oil presented. That's 100's of hours on each oil. Not likely.

So we just have to take your word for all this supposed testing... all i hear is a very well researched monolog and no actual test data!?!?

If do this ranking i will put mobil one #9 and Pennzoil #2 amzoil #1, mobil one has very low numbers and every detergent, 89molybdenun, and 75 boron where is the engine protection I think supertech do better, Valvoline make the best balance oil in the market ,using Valvoline every 5000 miles or 6 months will be more than fine

These oil videos are just whoever made the video preferences only. if you watch these videos, you'll go crazy and every oils is rate different. Lol

Have used SuperTeck synthetic for years. No problems. Under 20 dollars 5 qt container Walmart.

I'm just watching the video. Just a bit of a comment: at the beginning you said you tested 8 synthetic motor oils, but in the initial image there are 7 oils, and 4 of them are not synthetic.

quaker state ultimate synthetic is great oil after 500 k miles engine , valves, pistons were almost like new, look at video on qs use on nyc taxi cabs

Never run oils pat 5K miles. Oil filters will plug, even if the oil hassnt broke down. Change oil when if warm, allows heavy contaminates to drain. Skip most budget oils. Vavoline and Pensoil are solid. More advanced oils are now onthe market. Ansoil and Liqui Moly. They test out very high. A quality oil filter is vital, ones made for full synthetics.

This video to me is just that a video with opinions not actual testing done looking at the video shows a lot of photos of engines and somebody painting a car ?? I would not give this video as one I would consider for helping people choose a engine oil

5-6k mis w/ full synthetic oil. 3-5k mis w/ Semi-Synthetic oil. Easy.

Where's the shock result ... u buy a cheaper syn oil u change it out sooner ... u buy the most expensive u change it out less ... no true loser or winner of any including those not listed AND same goes for the filters ... thou personally ... stay away from synthetics 'unless' owner manuals specify their usage AND advise strict use of K&N filters or highest quality of other brands ... AND don't do the skip ... changing filters every other oil changeout.
As for BIKES ... for all year Harleys : RevTech Pure (non-syn) OR Castrol Actevo (syn blend) OR RedLine (syn) 20w50's along 'again' with only K&N filters.
In the primaries (chain or belt driven) ... RedLine VTwin Primary Lube OR Revtech Primary Lube.
In the trannys ... RedLine OR RevTech Transmission Lube OR Quicksilver Hypoid Gear OIl 80w90.
RevTech products maybe harder to find ... Quicksilvers made by MercuryMarine. Other 4-strokes : RedLine OR Quicksilvers recommended.
AND screw the myth of 'changing chit per mileage traveled' ... fact is : it's time NOT distance ... more times spent idling OR simply not driven than most others.
All vehicles 'should' b equipped with hour meters and date calendars ... more so than odometers.

I have been using nothing but Supertech in my 2005 Prius since I bought it 5 years ago with 200k. Today, it has over 500,000 miles on it and it's still running fine. I don't tow and I change the oil frequently...most of the time.

I run Rotela in my 4 wheeler, mustang Gt and gmc serria, lawnmower you name it!! Have more protection in summer and well I deluded some in the winter time

I think the biggest thing people get wrong is using those super thin oils, that are recommended because auto manufacturers use them to meet mileage targets and to long of oil change intervals.

At the beginning all Synthetic oil rated for 20 k miles , but then the mechanics started to tell people to change oil every 3-5 k miles so they have more work . From the year 80 -is to the early 2.000 the Toyota Honda 3.8L gm 5.7 Chevy , still lasted 250-350 k miles with conventional 10:w30 oil . We can’t see this with the newer cars or trucks!!! Hahaha it’s called precision engineering .

I used Teck Wallmart oil in my Saturn 3.0 v6 and after 26000 75% high speed highway miles the oil was still good

I use Amsoil and change every 10,000 miles. No problems so far. It may cost twice as much but I'm doing 1/3 the changes.

Used Castrol in all my vehicles for 50 years ( cars and motorbikes ), all done high mileage with no problem. Anyone leaving oil in the engine for too long is asking for trouble, short runs are hard on oil so you need to make more oil changes if your car only goes to the shops and back, motorway miles are good for engine and oil.

No other tester including Lake the oil guy has found anything wrong with super tech synthetic oil in fact it performs almost as well as mobile one or any other brand so I think this is mostly horseshit click bait bull

I use supertech advance high mileage with hot shot stiction eliminator. Pretty much zero varnish or any build up when I pulled the valve cover at over 200k. currently have 320k on the engine and I lose about a quart of oil every 10k...I try to change the oil every 7500 miles but usually closer to 10k smh 😅

If tests is the way to pick your oil then the ultimate test was the mobile 1 challenge. Mobile 1 took new New York cabs measured internal moving parts. Full synthetic was used for 100,000 miles without change the engines were taken apart remeasured and no significant where was detected. If you're like me you do your own test. I would leave work at 5 travel 45 miles at 85-109 mph pull into gas station pull my dip stick wipe with fingers and not to hot to touch. If you like recommendations from experts. Corvette, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus all recommend mobile 1 pure synthetic. I drove my car hard and had 268,000 miles on it and it ran like new.

It's a gimmick, I've always used cheap oil up to 250K miles, I drive for Uber and Lyft. Honda and Nissan engines don't care, the cars wear out not the engines
