Believe me, the civilian casualties of the war during these 5 months are not even a thousandth of the people killed by the Islamic Republic in two nights.

They repaired my car for free, my host gave me his only bedroom in the house and slept with his family around a coffee table in the livingroom. At daytime he would use my car to drive taxi with me around the city of Mashad, making enough money to have breakfast at his fathers shop, lunch at fastfood Wimpy and dinner at the Wiener Wald restaurant with the great Shiraz wine. At night his friends borrowed the car and drove taxi, not for money, but to talk to the girls. Every morning the car was back with a full tank and a heep of coins on the table. When it was time to leave, my host got drunk and cried.

1974 it were the same friendly, amazing people in Iran. My hosts friends were competing, of who could me take out for food, sightseeing or cultural feats.
