So refreshing to see books that are described as well-written rather than seeing just the normal booktok books. Definitely added some to my TBR!

I read "One of the good guys" because of this video and I must say it was one of the worst books I'd read this year. It had the most annoying Male mc ever. No character development, 0 plot, it's just a middle aged man whining about his wife bc she has a life 🙄

I recently read a murder mystery novel called "We Left Him There", Not gonna lie it's really great! You can try it if you are searching for a gem!

Just finished night watching by your recommendation. Best book I’ve read in a while, but I’m a new mom. Why did I do this? 😂

Strangers on a Train was originally a novel by Patricia Highsmith. I read it last year and enjoyed it. She also wrote, among other novels, The Talented Mr. Ripley. She’s definitely an author to check out, if you haven’t. Another great one with the “Strangers on a Train” premise is The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson. Swanson is a “can’t miss” author for me. I’ve enjoyed all of his books.

I know this is an older video but I love lists like these because it reminds of books that I missed and I like HEARING a review, I normally read all my reviews on Goodreads - so this makes a nice change, also there's a higher chance of my library having a copy available, or of them being lower priced I especially like to get my reviews from avid thriller - mystery readers because a lot of times, a reviewer that doesn't read many of this genre will have different take ie: find them more thrilling, more mysterious then someone that is familiar with the genre's tropes and standards that avid readers will have. Slow down and enunciate

Thanks for the recs. I'm new here; just subscribed. My favourite literary TSM is The Push by Ashely Audrain. I've read it twice. It's not only a good story, but it's so well written. Audrain is such a poet. Her second novel didn't get as much attention, but I thought it was all right just rushed. I think that happens to a lot of authors with the second book; the publisher just rushes the process. Another one I've read a few times is Pelican Brief and The Client. I love Grisham, but you're right, his older book were better.

To anyone interested, the novel “Assunta” by a writer named Greco is a thought-provoking trip through hell (thanks to a virus-like thing) in a modern-day variant of the epic 14th century poem, The Divine Comedy; three books in one—Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. It’s a forceful love story, but heavy on depravity and slaughter—my cup of tea. Great horror-sci fi.

Tina, your recommendations have exponentially increased my reading enjoyment! In two weeks, I've read First Lie Wins, What Happened to Nina, Kill for Me Kill for You, and now I'm reading Nightwatching. We seem to have similar tastes, and so far, these have been fantastic. So i thank you for doing all the heavy lifting when it comes to finding the gems. ❤

The Butcher is ok but you need to expand your range-try some writers that are actually famous. Agatha Christie-Poirot novels are great but if you like darker -try James Ellroy, Ruth Rendell, Ian Rankin or Val McDermid (Carol/Tony) Thrillers. Hillier is nowhere near these writers.

You didn't mention author Riley Sager.
