I Was TOLD TO AVOID This ABANDONED SCHOOL...!
Video Overview & Insights
For years I've heard rumors about why people should avoid this place. Are the rumors true or just a scare tactic to keep people away? One thing that's for certain is time and vandals did this place no favors. Come along with me to learn some of the history of this location and to see what the current condition is like today.
I may be late to the party with this location, but it certainly was worth the wait. Do you think this place can still be saved?

You guys should do a night explore through that school. I bet there would be a lot of paranormal activities.

That is a gas heater in the ceiling. It would be newer than the boiler system.

What an amazing and fascinating exploration! It is definitely 🎄abandoned lol. Love this beautiful building with all the brick, gorgeous entryway, the tile steps, and so forth. This place gave me sad vibes with so many memories for those who taught and worked here and those who attended and then to see it in these conditions is heartbreaking. I was imagining what it was like back in the day with lots of activity, all the hustle and bustle of the students and teachers coming and going both during school and after, and many sports and other exciting events. The gym and auditorium were big and remarkable, and I agree, the music/band room was a really neat room! Those small rooms are so puzzling, I wonder what they were used for, I was thinking like you that maybe they were used for practice rooms for music, but they really did seem quite small. That was so funny when you were sitting in the desk lol. I really hate to say this, but I don't think this place is salvageable and that it would probably be best to just demolish and start over. This is an incredible video JP, thank you!💙

Both Hudson Valley Ruins and Abandoned America dot US have a bunch of photos of this place with the latter having quite a few that show it BEFORE it was completely trashed. The latter shows how visible the building was years ago before the trees grew up so high.

Great video JP, i agree would have been great to see it remain a original time capsule. Places like that seem to always be destroyed, the boilers are big, definitely has that old 1940s original components, materials. And i think that was a heater built into that wall. 👍👍👍👍😎💙

What a shame ....I always hate to see perfectly good buildings left to rot.. Too bad it wasn't rescued many years ago ....may be too late now . Thank you for the tour...🎄yep ..it was definitely abandoned 👍💙

Heyy someone spray painted a highly detailed mural of Jeff Bezos’ Rocket ship in the cafeteria lol the resemblance is uncanny..

Well that's what classrooms supposed to look like with chalkboards today's classrooms probably don't have in the school anymore because I'd rather do that work on computers instead of pencil and paper like they're supposed to do no kid under 16 years old should I even have a phone or a tablet
@garyholt369I have to say that is a very large school. Every time you went near a window or looked down , my stomach went into my throat. Just think of you being afraid of heights, I guess I am too! Thanks for the scares and video!
@dianacoffey5330oh I want to meet Venessa,, does she law trains ?
@sparky107107Definitely dont make these schools like this anymore, loved the auditorium and the band stage. Very unique just sad it couldn't be saved 😔. Thanks for sharing JP 👍
@StantonsJourneysI’m proud of my small town that turned our 1929 high school in to apartments.
@southernman5839That giant furnace was quite impressive. A very dark and eire cafeteria full of lead paint and God knows what else? Sad to see the vandalism. And ofcourse lots of natural decay over time. Creepy cool video. Thanks for taking us along. Glad you had a partner to sjare yhis exploration with. See you on the next video 😊💙
@jeffgentle6497Greetings JP,
At @2:10 yes heater box.... steam fed through the pipes, into the heater cabinet, heater fins would emit the heat from the pipes, squirrel cage blower fans would circulate the warm air.
At @3:45 you missed the head of a coal shovel.
At @4:54 soda pop machine turned on its side.
At @6:41 Psalm 61:2 NKJV "From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
At @8:05 yes water fountain nook.
At @8:15 hiding behind the door was a specification grade 20 amp light switch... that would have been a very late before closure replacement.
At @8:41 Nope, computer network patch panel.
At @13:06 space for a Theatre Pipe Organ chamber. 😎
At @13:30 yes, lighting dimmer control board.
At @26:39 yes plaster with metal lath.
At @30:39 Milgor Steel Company, Baltimore Maryland..... Soooooo Not China! 💯
Good explore! 👍
Wow! What a location! The cathedral-like ceiling in the gym was impressive. The slots near the sink was probably an art room. The students put their paintings in their slots and were instructed to wash their hands. This has to be a poor area. I have idea of the city. The massive wooden-not concrete-staircase from street level the the main entrance is wild. And coal until the year 2002? Wow. And not posted? Huge liability. Great video.
@Cupcake578Cupcake57-wYou went to late its all the wall & windows are knocked out & down theres no solid wall fir homeless to live in . Best to to should've been before the windows were all busted out . I remember the other urbex explorers did that when it was all in tact with homeless still living there .
@leahlopez0266I suspect that this is likely going to have to be demolished in the future.
@stphinkleThank you again JPVIdeos 👍
@MEL2theJNeat old school....shame it was destroyed by Thieves and Vandals . Time hasn't been kind either .And your right a very cool gym !! Cool to see what is left a lot of history here for sure and thank you for the information on this location and I love those pictures at the end !! Great video as always!!👍👍
@robertmanley7556The rooms before you entered the auditorium were probably music classrooms. The would be near the auditorium. The small slots were possibly sheet music storage for the "active" arrangements. The smaller rooms would make sense being practice rooms that could accommodate small ensembles.
@SSuth222It will cost. Millions to clean this place, the county's not going to put money into it.
Demolition is necessary for safety though.
That box on the wall is a standard 19" rack that probably held PA equipment like amplifiers that drove the hallway and classroom speakers, maybe control equipment for the bell system, or even a computer networking IDF if such existed by the time that school was abandoned. With that in mind the blue room was probably the office rather than a classroom.
@markdayneowalla“The Hall of Justice” vibes from the front entrance.
@1954shadowThank you for this interesting adventure. See you next time 😊
@elainescordo7035I dont feel tardy...
@seanobrien7169Where I live a couple schools closed around the late 2000's but they were relatively vandalism free so they were later converted to an addiction clinic and apartments. I don't see that place being saved given how destroyed it is.
@JHarkleroad123Sad to see those slate boards trashed
@d_robyn7626How much asbestos is in there? 😮
@Mike-h1q9jIt is plaster! I work in a courthouse built in 1938 and all the floor ceilings and walls were plaster. Metal mesh and plaster added.
@petedanzaLaughing on hole into boiler. You said it was big enough for a person to go in. That is exactly why. Need to climb in there to clean yearly, done it several times.
@marcusdoering6361That place gives me the creeps. Not a good spot at night, I imagine.
@brooklyngraham1151Was there a football field behind the school ?
@wildman318What’s the name of this Abandoned school ???
@wildman318Carry a pistol buddy. Security.
@dankmazzi2376Thanks for sharing that with us I enjoyed watching
@joangravel2436Great video Jay, sad to see the all the destruction over the years, must have been pretty in its day. Thanks for taking us along😮
