If just a quarter of those you come across in most towns/cities who just hang out and complain about the place, and say that there's nothing to do, and that they're not getting enough, well, handouts from the taxpayers, would get up and start doing something to better the town, those places would be so much better. And it doesn't have to be something big, like the people who complain about things like the park not having any equipment, or the area not having any places for kids to go. Well, instead of hanging out complaining, why don't they start collecting cans and donations to help provide some equipment for the park, or to help start a place for kids to go? They won't! They'll just spend their lives hanging out, complaining, and waiting for others to do it.

Interesting to see how the stories of Lewiston and Biddeford have diverged so much over the past 20 years or so.

Seems to be a common denominator in all these dangerous cities in otherwise safe states...

Peter! Love this! From the Lewiston/Auburn area (1997-2020). Moved to Florida. No future in L/A!! Maine people are great! The poverty stricken economy in the L/A area is brought on by the influx of immigrants that heard about the outrageous Maine state funding allowance for income assistance that is heavily supported by the governors lack of financial insight.....which falls on the shoulder of the taxpayers!! So goes the demise of the town!!! Love that you visited L/A!! Saw one of your earlier city interviews (Meeting Bloods and Crips). Great stuff man!!!

It's so refreshing that Peter doesn't get aggressive or antagonistic when talking about other ethnicities, unlike so many other YouTubers who always seem looking for a fight. I really appreciate his ability to stay neutral—congrats for keeping it level-headed!

I've seen MANY great concerst at the Lewiston Civic Center (now the Colisee) around 97-2010. So may good shows back then.

.I . A Connecticut native and grew up coming to Maine as my dad was born and raised here..

.back in the 80s the gothic architecture and the beautiful thriving businesses this was the place we always stopped in Maine to get a Sam's Italian !

I moved to Maine to get clean and get away from the rat race in Connecticut abd I stayed away from the cities because by the time I got here the Somalians had there chickens under their kitchen cupboards and there wasn't a clean apartment to live in so I settled into the deer Isle/Stonington community ..
.fast forward 23 years later I'm in bucksport disabled from DV and don't even have a home back in Connecticut cuz they're all caught up in the life ... Thugs trafficking etc ..

Point is no matter where you go the middle class exists no more your wealthy or homeless ... I . Was in fact living in the woods in Ellsworth Maine for 5 years with my kids because it's a migrant part of Maine where lobstering and blue erry picking/raking happens and they get more help than the people like me who paid hundreds of thousands of taxes while I was married ..
.thiz state is sincerely stuck in the 90s that man wasn't kidding I make jokes about living in mayberry.. no one of course except the old timers know what that means..

Anyway I guess this problem exists in every state of this union here in American middle class is gone and the mIgrants know how to work the system and the people who are here year round trying to live eat and sleep under a warm roof are left in the cold... I the last 5 years I've lost 11 friends to the elements and addiction .. it's horrifying
