I tested Notion for two months inside my own workflow to see if it could replace my task manager, planning system, and content calendar. And while it’s one of the most powerful free productivity tools online, there are a few limitations social media managers don’t talk about enough.
In this video, I’m breaking down my honest review of Notion after using it with real client work. We’ll cover the free plan, the steep learning curve, why templates completely change the experience, and the biggest reason Notion might not be the all-in-one solution social media managers are looking for.
Interesting, never heard of Rella till now. I'm intrigued - I'd honestly love a platform that can actually GET the audio from the platform, but that is the limitation that most schedulers have and that's why I still have to juggle posting manually for most of my clients unfortunately.
Because when you’re managing client work, your systems matter. The fewer tabs, tools, and workflows you need to juggle, the easier it is to execute consistently.
💕 Thank You to Rella for sponsoring this video

Your style is on point I have to say! So, the only issue with Notion is privacy and that they ultimately can lock you out of your account for a random "policy bot" error (so no reason essentially) and wipe all your data. It's happened to a lot of people. They also do not provide E2EE protection, so anything you put into Notion can be read by staff at Notion or their mining bots that look for policy breaches.
Which is not nice to think about if your entire daily life is stored in there including your contacts, appointments and whatever thoughts you record - along with things like novel research and/or product prototypes.
Moreover, if you use their AI features, the AI can then use your data to train - unless you have an Enterprise agreement clause saying otherwise. For this reason a lot of people are moving to apps that essentially don't do these things - Obsidian, Anytype; to name a few.

brilliant review and thank you for your honesty

Notion is fantastic but honestly not good for actual social media management. I like it for creating a dashboard for clients and a to-do list for myself.. but when it comes to the planning, Rella is definitely where its at

I'm a solo SMM, and I absolutely love Rella. I do pay for it, but for me, it's been so worth it, especially because I have eight clients. I do wish there was an actual app for Rella, but it's not a deal-breaker.

I have two of my own businesses and one that I work for (I guess technically I work for all of them...lol). Would Rella work to include all three?

I use Notion for myself and it’s so overwhelming. I used the most basic tools that it has.
and even watching Youtube videos on how to use it, they are overwhelming too.

Thank you for this episode!! It made me curious about other scheduling platforms and which ones are really the best. I'm curious if Rella has truly surpassed them all now! I've been using Publer as it has many of the same bells and whistles, but at a really affordable price point.

I love this so much, can you make a detailed video on how use Rella?

I love this so much but I use notion and the apps themselves. I make time to add into drafts for some platforms in advance and use notion for everything else for that client. That saves me money on paying for rella, the analytics are pulled from the native channels. Now I do love the AI based on content that rella offers not just using Ai based on the internet.
This was a great video for someone starting and not whom investing years in this industry and how they operate. Love what you do.
