Is Vaping Worse Than Smoking?
Video Overview & Insights
Vaping is the most common way for young people to ingest nicotine. It is less regulated than smoking and has even caused random deaths amongst teenagers, so is it actually worse than cigarettes?
I never understood the whole vaping thing but then again I've never smoked, never saw or felt the appeal towards it and when you get a whiff peach or caramel from a vape it's not exactly the most inviting thing...pretty ferral in my opinion....would honestly prefer to smell cigarette smoke

Vaping is not worse than cigarettes. Cigarettes have over 5000 chemicals including carbon monoxide, tar, formaldehyde, and 70 cancer causing chemicals.

I’m trying to understand the look of Polo-Shirt buttoned all the way up and a backwards baseball hat… not being critical, just curious about those decisions.

Thank you for the video. I had no idea i had to be careful about choosing a flavor. Does anyone know a flavor i should look for? Possibly one that have been proved to be the least harmful?

A quick fact-check on this video:
1. *"One out of every five high school students currently vapes."*
False. The latest FDA/NYTS data show current e-cigarette use among U.S. high school students at about **7.1%**, not 20%.
2. *Even the 7.1% figure needs context.*
FDA defines "current use" as using an e-cigarette on **at least one day in the past 30 days**. That means a teenager who took a single puff at a party three weeks ago is counted in the same category as someone who vapes every day. The statistic measures *past-30-day use*, not necessarily regular use, addiction, or dependence.
3. *The UK claim is misleading.*
The video states that 7% of UK youth vape and that the number has nearly doubled in two years. Current UK youth vaping is around 7%, but recent ASH data show that figure has stabilized rather than continuing to double.
4. *The EVALI discussion is incomplete.*
The video eventually admits that the 2019-2020 lung injury outbreak was linked primarily to illicit THC cartridges contaminated with vitamin E acetate, not standard nicotine vaping products. Unfortunately, many viewers will remember the scare and miss the clarification.
5. *Hazard is not the same as risk.*
The video repeatedly mentions chemicals found in vapor but rarely discusses exposure levels. Toxicology is not "chemical detected = danger." The actual question is dose and exposure. Water, caffeine, nicotine, oxygen, and thousands of other substances can be harmful at some level. Finding a chemical is not the same as demonstrating meaningful real-world risk.
6. *The conclusion contradicts the opening.*
After spending five minutes implying vaping may be worse than smoking, the video ultimately acknowledges that scientists and physicians still consider combustible cigarettes more harmful. That's a pretty important detail.
None of this means vaping is harmless. It isn't. Nicotine is addictive, and inhaling anything other than clean air carries risk.
But if we're going to have an honest discussion, let's start with accurate numbers, distinguish experimentation from regular use, and avoid presenting hazards as if they automatically translate into real-world health outcomes.
In philipines. It's 75% vaping high school
@JayTurser-f3eWhy do you let your kids smoke
@ronsrb1I have quitted like I lost the count and then I come back again I hate it I am so f tired
I smoke one out of trash that’s the level the lowest level I can’t do this anymore
That’s it, I’m done.
@Thirrtyeighterr❤❤❤❤❤❤
@Robert-v7u5h1 vape = 12 packs of cigarettes (20 pieces per pack) = 240 pieces of cigarettes in 1 vape. This is at 20mg of nicotine dosage.
you use 35mg, that's 420 pieces of cigarettes in 1 vape.
Children should not be doing this.
@BeckyLin-i3cNever owned a vape but tried a lot of my friends
@Relatablememes321"Shrenk Your Deck"
@GSONEMESISSmaller shrimp😦 I think I'll just stop atp
@ijehswastakenokay im not buying one anymore
@AvoirJoseph1:06 you was not ripped off of one puff of a vape 😭😭😭
@KingstonRichardson-n2eAs a person who vapes sometimes this is like comparing trash and garbage
@gundecklingYou guys should try Füm.
@FelipeGarica37I've done it all. Smoked cigarettes, cigars, made my own mechanical vape, made my own nic juice, used disposable vapes, dry herb vapes and carts. They are all bad as your lungs are only designed for oxygen. But if your comparing smoking tobacco in a cigarette VS vaping tobacco in a dry herb vape there's a big difference. Disposable vapes are only bad because we don't know what's actually in them. When we made our own juice it was prop glycol, veg glycerin and liquid nicotine. Now the sale of nicotine is banned so we just vape whatever comes out of China
@beanburrito7706I do both😅
@NikolaTroshev-f9uOmg
@BkwankelobiI smoke 4 packs a day.
If I don't have a cigarette each hour I'll get sick. Go to have my nicotine and I'm so addicted to nicotine. Like people are on crack cocaine I gotta have my nicotine gotta have it
1:13 So vaping is basically the chemicalized version of natural Marijuana with a lot more side affects and side issues.
@ArtisDefiniitionThis is straight misinformed anti-vape propaganda. And it’s not even the creators fault, but the studies you are pulling the information from are heavily FDA and government funded.
The reason for the massive push for biased studies sponsored by government entities is as simple as 1 word you mentioned in this video. “Capitalism….” Big tobacco is losing literally BILLIONS of dollars in not only traditional tobacco sales but also from smoking cessation methods….thus practically bankrupting big pharma.
So now you have big pharma and big tobacco losing billions which when you follow the money, ultimately takes money out of politicians and federal employee pockets. This also explains the “young kids vaping” epidemic the federal government has pushed across the US. Are they vaping? Sure!! If vapes didn’t exist, would they be smoking? 🤔 OF COURSE!!! We all smoked cigarettes as teens and that’s been the case since tobacco existed!!
Connect the dots and you find how ironic it is that as they try to pass the vape bans with over regulation and impossible costs associated that vape manufacturers must pay PER PRODUCT for fda approval is designed to put them out of business……so that BIG TOBACCO can release vape products of their own; essentially cornering the market.
Is vaping without risk? Of course no one would ever say that. But the idea is that it is significantly less harmful than smoking cigarettes, which is the goal. The royal college of physicians, who were the firsts to rule smoking to be completely unsafe and detrimental to one’s health, is the SAME body of expert doctors who have already ruled vaping to be 97% less harmful than combustible cigarettes.
(P.S. I will give the creator a lot of credit for pointing out that the string of deaths related to vaping were from underground homemade thc vape producers using vit E oil)
Smoking is worse than Vaping.. I do not independently support vaping but if you do vaping than you are on a more safer side.. and If you use vapes purchased from optimalvapors than they are better than any other vapes because they are less harmful and do not contain toxic chemicals in their flavours.
@HarshitJha-t7hI hate these stupid flavored USB sticks
@MatineversleepsI quit almost a year ago but still vape on the weekends- so I don’t vape 5 days out of the week… gotta stop for good now
@dariuskhalil23760:48 FLAVORING NOT FLAVOURING
@MEFVM6436have been smoke free for 19 months and quitted after 27 years od smoking in my first try. I used minimal dose nicitine gum the first cpl of weeks to deal with the worst, The first 1-2 weeks is the key. When u get past that the worst is over
@Michael-sb1gjTo anyone vaping and smoking weed i guarantee you have EVALI quit smoking it’s not COPD. It’s not asthma it mimics those but if you use thc vape and nic QUIT.
@Wakeup.223The concept..is clear as crystal...smoking or vaping...why are you pressing about vaping...damn...
@MayAlip-h5kLets put this in to perspective tobacco has a 30yr waiting period on effects on lungs, i have vaped for 12 months and already have a issue everytime i cough my lungs cause itching in my back, i have gone back to smoking tobacco.
@lea-rw5cbFun thing is that I research and the number still stays at 68 deaths and is very hard to find problems with it if you compare it to normal cigarettes. And I spend so much money on cigarettes by now that I could easily afford the most expensive vape and swap the resistor every single day and still save money. When you compare both first do the math of cost per year of normal cigarettes and invest in the most safe vaping solution with the same budget. Also as last note..."NEW CONCEPT". Men the vaping has been around for two decades already.
@ThunderKatjust take this if all these companies are connected which you are crazy if you think big tobacco and big pharma arent related somewhere up the chain, just goes to show they want to push cigs because theyre more expensive for those who just end up smoking a pack a day
@jamesbell4858Nicotine is in tomatoes does that mean there bad ? Nicotine isn’t as bad as people think it’s all the other shit
@nickysthenicsKids use to smoke cigeretes all the time for decades before they even got a health scare vaping like 7 years or less
