Juicy ROAST CHICKEN RECIPE - How To Cook a Whole Chicken

Video Overview & Insights

There’s nothing like homemade roast chicken! This one-pan dinner features juicy chicken breasts with our foolproof tip for perfect results every time.

adding things to the cavity adds flavor to any of the meat on the bottom of the bird... flavor juices don't travel up into the breast etc. does make a tasty jus though

I roast (at 400 degrees Fahrenheit) the liver and innards along with the chicken. It’s a treat for the chef! I also add about a cup of beer to the chicken. Again, a few ounces of beer are for the chef!😘😋

The roast chicken looks very good. However, our local grocery stores don't carry roasting chicken that weight. Our grocerers have weights of just less than 3 pounds. We haven't any delies like bigger cities. Recipes for smaller birds would be nice. I have no idea where I can buy big birds. What resources can you suggest. On the other hand there are just 2 of us except for when there is a gathering. Thanks

It's a snow day, and we're going to try this today. Very upbeat video with easy-to-understand instructions, even for for me. I will put it in the oven between rounds of shoveling. Thanks for the great tips. I liked the comedic touches such as throwing away the veggie scraps that magically reappeared from a disembodied hand. We bought "Natasha's Kitchen" book last year. I fix the oven roasted potatoes a lot. The book is great, but it's nice to see the live action of a demonstration.

Hello, sweet Natasha! Question: Why do you cook it on such a high Temp? It makes for lots of mess inside my oven while roasting. Could I roast at 350 and still have a delicious chicken?

Thank you for sharing your recipe, I tried some of your recipes, all turned out good. I noticed that you all never rub the skin of the chicken with salt and wash the whole chicken well as it has dirty, the chicken never take a bath !! Ha ! Ha ! It stink especially the wild chicken that served when I was in the plane. Karen is my slow learner daughter.

Hello! We never toss the gizzards! We cook them in a pressure pot with salt and sofrito, cut them in small pieces and add them to "guineitos en escabeche". This is a dish from Puerto Rico tipically served around Xmas. The other stuff inside the chicken (heart, lungs, etc.) are used to flavor soups. Some people eat the pieces. I just use it for flavor. I would give you my mom's recipe for the guineitos but that would be close to sacrilege. 😂 I guess you can find a recipe over the internet. BTW I looooove your videos and recipes!!!!😊 Thank you!
