IIn the early morning hours of September 2019, local authorities responded to a disturbing call. A woman, visibly panicked, reported that her neighbor had stumbled to her home bleeding from a gunshot wound to the hip. The injured woman was hysterical, telling her neighbor that her spouse had just shot her.
She sounds sleep deprived and unfit for interview. She ought to have a lawyer. She also needs to be locked up!
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, while her spouse was taken into custody for questioning.
As investigators spoke with the victim, it became clear that this was not an accident. Detectives would later determine that the shooter had intended to kill her that night. What no one anticipated was that the victim would survive—and live to reveal what truly happened. And the truth was far more disturbing than anyone could have imagined.
