LeBron Explains What Makes Jalen Brunson So Dangerous

Video Overview & Insights

New York Knicks guard and NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson proved that small guards can still have a massive impact on winning at the highest level. After helping the Knicks snap their 53-year championship drought with a Finals victory over the San Antonio Spurs, Brunson cemented himself as one of the NBA's elite players. LeBron James and Steve Nash broke down his impact on the Finals, what makes his game so special, and why he's one of the most dangerous offensive players in the league when he's in attack mode.

Brunson is a real PG he plays with command and is the one who runs the offense Steph curry is an off ball player who helps but draymond is really the one who really runs that warriors offense

What about Nate Archibald? I know he wasn’t the primary focal point of the ā€˜81 Celtics offense, Bird and Maxwell were, but he was a crafty veteran hall of fame caliber leader.

I had to laugh when LBJ said 90% of the league is right handed because 90% of the general population is right handed. It's estimated that it might (now) be that 89 or 88% of the general population might be right handed, but for a long, long time it's been that 90% of the the world is right handed.

Getting in front of your opponent, should be used more. Jalen has mastered this. I call Jalen the Terminator because he ends dreams.

Lebron, please come to New York. It would not only be good for you, the knicks, it's fans.. but the Sport of Basketball as a whole would be Elevated. You got your former agent, former coach.. and will be playing beside a guy who's favorite player is Steve Nash. This would shake up the World if you came! Do you though, hope you can find that Happiness you're looking for. Thanks for bringing a Ring to LA!

The KNICKS TEAM in itself does not get its credit due for how good they are that makes Brunson shine. šŸ˜’

Houston. They Trade KD, Bruce Thornton, Capela, Holiday and picks if need be for Brunson. Then Houston trades Alperen Sengun and FVV for Jokic. Then Houston signs Lebron. Could you fucking imagine...

Brunson, Sheppard
Amen, Smart
Lebron, Bogdonavic
Jabari, Tari
Joker, Adams

That is the best team in NBA history I'm so sorry.

Think about what that solves for both teams, the Knicks get an up and coming version of Jalen Brunson in Bruce Thornton, they also get KD, one of the best to ever lace them up, they get a Capela and Holiday who can replace Mitchell Robinson in more ways than 1 and draft picks? Then the nuggets get a literal up and coming jocic in AL P andddd they get a championship PG which they so desperately need. It actually literally makes sense

LeBron your statements don't pass the sniff test. Jalen Brunson is playing like a guy from the 1990s and early 2000s. That's why he's so dangerous. Any of those top smaller guards from that era would torch these children today. Jalen Brunson is playing like a Steve Nash, and to ask the question what other small guard would have success, wasn't there a guy by the name of Steph Curry. So stop it you're making excuses for the fact that you were one of the best basketball players in the world, but lack the mental fortitude that Jalen Brunson has and that Wimby did not demonstrate in his loss to New York, They should've torched New York. If you don't believe it look at the leads that they had right until they had their mental collapse leading into the second quarter of each game. This is what separates a Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Steph Curry They know in their head and their heart that there is no one better than they are. They don't discount their skills and their abilities. You could see that in the way they talk the way they walk and just their aura. They don't rely on their natural abilities. They rely on mental stamina.

This squad and Brunson in particular made atonement for 50 years of misery . Giving up 100m to get the personal you need is all character all legend .

Lebron left Kyrie and Tony Parker out of the conversation on purpose. I wonder why.

@ABc-v6n
@

"What other small guards have led their teams to titles?"
Then Lebron intentionally spends 5 minutes acting like he doesn't know Kyrie scored 27ppg in the finals and hit the biggest final game 7 shot ever.
He also ignored that Tony Parker was finals MVP scoring 25ppg vs his Cavs. That's not by accident.

@ABc-v6n
@

Bro just really love all eras of ball. Bron I see the direction you were going with that logo. I would reject that print unless one of your kids came up with it.

Last small guard combo before Isiah/Joe Dumars. Gus Williams and Dennis Johnson when the Sonics beat the Bullets. šŸ˜‚

@supermutant
@

Yall are on bros meat badšŸ˜‚ was actually a pretty bad finals performance besides the last game, and that last game was still mid if you look at anything but total points. Bro didn’t even deserve fmvp. If bron had the same exact series statistically yall would be saying OG and cat carried him. I also think it’s crazy how no one is talking about how historically bad Brunson was in clutch time EVERY GAME OF THE FINALS.

@ShelbySanford-w1s
@

Nice one, thanks. The best captain in the league. Makes his teammates even better than they are.

It's amazing that these two NBA legends are literally saying the same thing that Becky Hammon said (about the likelihood of small guards leading their team to a championship), yet she is being crucified by everyone and their followers.

@happyhapley

rondo?

@thacamp
@

Brunson’s Dad was an NBA player who trained him at a high level from an early age. There’s video of some of their practice sessions, they were tough and he demanded a high level of skill, consistency and repetition from his son at an early age. Very few (if any other) kids get professional training like that all through childhood. That’s probably why he is so good.

@rt786-z5d
@

I don’t think Jordan is capable of giving real admiration to great young players like LeBron and Nash are doing in this conversation — or he would be online doing it like they are. The Jordan era was about the top players in the game mostly looking out for number 1 on and off the court.

@rt786-z5d

Ummm ya former teammate kyrie is a small guard

They said small guard. Meaning point or shooting. He CHOSE to forget about Steph.
