Whenever I go to bed for the night, I always leave my phone in a separate room. I never sleep with it next to me otherwise Iām gonna keep checking it. Iāve also been meaning to shift my screen time over to reading time.

Sign #11: You forgot pagers existed. No screen. No apps. No algorithm. Just a beep when someone important needs you. 3903 Corporation is re-launching the PAGER in California this summer and honestly it might be the most underrated digital detox tool ever created. You check it, find a phone when YOU'RE ready, and call back on YOUR time. Attention stays yours. #3903Corp #PagerIsBack #DigitalDetox #ScreenTime

I agree that it's important to have moments free of technology to really connect with the people around us. I'm building an app called Lost Time, a discreet timer that shows how much time we spend in certain apps, which could be useful for increasing awareness.
@QEDxyzThe not being able to sit in silence is something else, i often just grab my phone to sleep bc i cant sit with my thoughts, because of how overwhelming they feel, its like I have accumulated tons of trash and its breaking down. I do grab the phone not bc Im bored, but bc im afraid to face my own thoughts. In response, my day feels constantly anxious and I get angry for the small reason. I did back in the day digital detox, honestly, when you try to leave it, it feels like you're dumb and you need a guidance of how to do things or what to do, wich makes you go back, when you don't need anything more than to think yourself what you like more, not what media tells you too.
Small story- Im spanish, and recently in Spain happened the power outage where we didnt have electricity for a day. And actually, that day, I remmeber it more than usual, bc it felt for a long time I did have more time. My phone died, we only had radio to communicate, and I spend more talking with my family that any day before. Also, the night felt so peaceful, I didnt have any device, just a book and a lantern to see. And bc I couldnt turn on the lights, I did go to bed soon. Curious how much change without all this media flooding your brain.
Love this digital detox reminder! Sometimes the best way to reconnect is to take a short mindful break.
For those wanting a tech-free self-care boost, I just shared an 8-minute mindful movement video designed to calm anger and refresh your mindāperfect for a digital detox moment!

Would love your thoughts if you give it a try during your next detox!
I've struggled with this quite a bit and I'm trying to improve myself. One of my tricks to use my phone less to carry my pocket dictionary with me, so I don't always have to use my phone to look up a word while I read. I also turn my phone off at night before I go to bed. I still use my phone to listen to music a fair bit when I'm out, but I try not to constantly look for the next song or flick between songs. I also try and carry a book on me as much as possible to avoid going for my phone when I'm bored
@patrickbarrett114For years I convinced myself scrolling was ārelaxing.ā In reality, it left me drained and guilty every night. A digital detox guide opened my eyes to how hooked I really was. Once I started limiting my phone, I rediscovered hobbies I hadnāt touched in yearsāpainting, cooking, even just enjoying silence. Life feels fuller when it isnāt lived through a screen.
@Aditya_dhfmI used to wake up and grab my phone before I even got out of bed, losing an hour before the day began. That habit set the tone for everythingāunfocused, reactive, and stressed. Reading about digital detox helped me reset my mornings and my mindset. Now, with less screen time, I feel like Iāve added hours back into my life that I didnāt even know I was losing.
@DineshKumar-s3s4gMy addiction wasnāt just about wasting timeāit was about losing myself. I reached for my phone every time I felt bored, sad, or anxious. It became a crutch. Reading about digital detox helped me break that cycle and face life instead of hiding from it. With less screen time, Iāve found more clarity, creativity, and even peace in simple daily moments.
@HirenJogiI never realized how much of my life was slipping away until I checked my screen time and saw it was nearly 9 hours a day. That wasnāt āliving,ā it was escaping. A digital detox book completely changed my perspectiveāit showed me how to cut back step by step. Now I spend more time walking, journaling, and actually being present with people I love. Less screen time really does feel like more life.
@officialvikasrana07My screen time got stuck on an hour and 5 min, maybe it just can't bear that I've been scrolling for the whole day.
@whateveribecomeHey @Psych2go, I reduced my screen time from 6 hours to less than 4 hours. I am happy it is down so hopefully it is less than 2 hours all the way to 30 minutes a day. My brain became a lot better not watching those youtube shorts. Wish me luck getting to 30 minutes a day.
@JentreprenuerI don't know what else to do ššš
@Veronika-x4sreferences please
@elliebarlow9742Refrinces plz
@elliebarlow9742Ever catch yourself doomscrolling for hours, then wondering why you're anxious, tired, and somehow still unsatisfied? I used to think I was just lazy or addicted to my phone until I realized I was actually overstimulated and disconnected from my body. What helped me wasnāt another productivity hack or app limiter. It was a 30-day guide called āReset Your Body and Mindā by Morgan Lane. It didnāt just cut screen time it helped me rebuild my attention, energy, and peace. By Week 2 I was sleeping better, moving more, and craving presence instead of distraction. It felt surreal. If your brain feels fried and your body numb, this reset might be the missing piece. Start with Day 1 it changes fast.
@nathanoneandonlySometimes I get so bored even doomscrolling is boring and itās torture cuz I feel like I NEED to do something but everything is boring now from doing it over and over.
Iām bored of every video topic I see on my fyp on YouTube. I scrolled so far today it literally wouldnāt let me scroll further, I had officially hit the bottom of my fyp š
āTake a break away from your phone. Listen to musicā I need my phone to do that š
@TSKCryptid-rz2sw1:44 - Yes, I think I have homophobia
@ru6y826you look different yup ....i am here just for that
@timBones-e8ui am addicted to my phone really bad. have tried to have screen time on my apps, didnt work. downloaded a app to block my apps, didnt work. i can related to all of it so much. I have being gentle with my self to much to social media that everything i have tried didnt work so i yesterday decided to delete my facebook and instagram og deactivated my TikTok. idk now what to do with my timeš š
@C.a.m.i04No no yes yes no
@TheSingaporeTrainEnthusiast1:58 now what if.. I mostly use my phone for those things?
@Xav_HasWay2ManyFandomsFor me, I'm not sure if I'm addicted, but, I usually try and listen to some sort of music if I'm going to do something, I put in some earbuds, and listen to something.
@Sahlokniir325One thing I recommend you do it to get a Distraction Blocker, one I tried and recommend is cold turkey Blocker. Another thing I'll also tell you is thath you won't sit on your phone at all , you'll just sit on your phone less .
@RosaTheRobloxianI notice from experience and stories that alot of children these days rely on their devices for stress and boredom relief. Scolded and judged for being on them so much but we don't have as much freedom. Want to go for a walk? It's too dangerous, how would you, someone so young, know that? Despite all the warnings and all the possibilities you've been told time and time again you 'still can't know.' Everything is about safety these days. It is very important but it can get to the point where you don't believe you know what's right. Screens can help with that relief, it is damaging but it helps.
@SteamyArtyI can't stand the silence without my phone, because I'm a severe overthinker and my mind is a lot. The thing is I don't have any Social Media except from YouTube (Limit at 1h and blocked Shorts) & Reddit anymore (Limit at 1h and only using it for book recommendations) and my screentime is still at 11h some days...I spend a lot of time in my Notes app writing stuff down, planning all the time (but never really doing anything, it's a struggle), I want to do everything perfectly and plan and research and plan more and want to find out everything perfectly, I have huge playlists for self-improvement on Youtube too and can't stop saving videos without really watching them, I have a lot of saved Reddits, a lot of open Tabs on Chrome, I feel stressed constantly, but I can't stop. I'm searching and searching and I don't know what I'm searching for. WHY CAN'T I JUST START?
@pandachrissanKitty-Chan: sigh I think it's time for me to quit using my phone... š
Everyone: gasp
Kitty-Chan: I mean, I'm going to take a break from my phone, man I can not be on the cell phone, after I watched this! šš
HOW DID YE KNOW ME SECRET OF CALMING!? YE MUST BE A WIZARD!?!?
@YifanWang-u2qWhat if I use my phone to learn about law and investment? 4:21 thats me. ....
@Evelina-z3vHey everyone. This is actually the third script Iāve written for the channel, and Iām really curious to see how it connected with you. If anything stood out, made you feel something, or if you have any thoughts or suggestions, Iād truly love to hear them. Iām replying to as many of you as I can. Thank you so much for being here. Take good care, and be gentle with yourself. š¤
@onniembukuzanice, it's 2:35 am
@HiraethMalfoyI honestly never use my phone EVER unless im at home. I dont take it on walks or anywhere, unless its somewhere i really want to take pictures in
@FizzyMilkYT4:14 Jesus I got called out so bad. I really suck with feelings and stuff, my friends call me emotionally constipated lol. I hate my feelings because to me they serve no use, I always try to ignore them and push them away but that seems to make it worse in the long run.
@apricxtyWell, let's unsubscribe any of YouTube channels (including this) and then delete YouTube or ban YT even better... Next phase will be destroying any technologies and goes into the medieval age... š š šš
@ksalphalcsihp1252I struggle with all of themšplease help! I need my back!!!
@StarstruckTigerThank you.
@cnn1mp_forever7 hours? How about 17
@ColeGrant-s6cAccording to the video, phone = scrolling (this perspective was used in the video)
But that's not always the case- sometimes its binging Netflix all night, or texting with your crush/bff for hours
This gave me some good ideas for mental healing regardless.
@diamond_zonelove you guys
@cyrene03Love this channel
@Indbolwebelieve9 hours how š
@Cartoony_Master9173I wake up and I trun my alarm off on my phone and that's it because honestly I hate phones if it wasn't for work and emergencies I wouldn't have a cell phone
