Offshore oil rigs, floating cities in the middle of the ocean, never sleeping cities towering above passing ships, working silently 24 hours non-stop for 7 days, carrying out their tasks far away from the nearest shore.
I would never ever work in the oil field business, fck that bs job … and out at sea oh hell fck no you couldn’t pay me enough . I’d rather be in Ukraine fighting
Billions of barrels of oil and gas are produced in these oil refineries and gas wells to meet the energy demands of the world's population.
500 years really?...... Oil was just discovered by accident in the 1800s. I can't remember exactly what year and I'm not going to Google it but the 1800s
The oil industry is the center of the world's economy, and even a slight change in crude oil prices can have a significant impact on all countries.
But have you ever wondered about the lifestyle and daily routine of the people who live and work on offshore oil rigs?

@neogarcia7319Check out the horror game "Still Wakes the Deep," it's a triple-A horror based on an oil rig off the shore of Scotland
@DavidMichael-bi3jwMan. That job is cake
@UpoutofwaterI’m an almost 60 yr old female, I can be super feminine & girly & am able to easily switch to my tom-boy side. But, boy I’d sure love to work as a merchant marine or on an oil platform. My great grandfather was a merchant marine during ww2 so maybe that’s where I get it. Dont think I’d care to work on a fishing boat in the North Sea tho. I have a huge fear of going down w a ship.
@charlottewenzel2005Great Machines

40k - 60k for roughnecks?? I thought those guys were in the 100k range. I wouldn't touch roughnecking for 40 to 60k when I could go bartend and make the same.
@brighamwhiteMy father is working there
@aestheticlady123Only 40k if you have no experience. Yeah no thank you. That’s ridiculous.
@DanteVelez-uy8pcGreat salary the most important
@Sloom-vn1ghNo green house impact ..bull
@rymburgyou got it all wrong. Your information is false, payment info in also wrong.
I worked 15 years on an oil rigs. Payment is much higher. Lowest that I know is 500 euro/day. Today is mostly around 800/day. There is no shift that starts at midnight, and working more than 14hours/ day happens only 2 times in a week.( or in emergency). Most bedrooms are private, no jail style bunks. Maybe you Americans have this uglyness, but I worked on 7 oil rigs all around the world , and I never saw what you described. Never worked on anmerican oil rig cause I didn't care much about their offers, payment was low and i don't want to work with Americans.
But if these are the facts on american oil rigs, then this is pure slavery and jail conditions.
How to apply
@ARIsidrosign me up seems fun
@ProfessorFooL230Hold on! Does anyone think working on an oil rig is luxurious?
@chrisbills389$40-$60K? I thought people made at least $100K on these
@Lightningbomb14Greed! Greed! Greed! Destroying Mother Earth.

@CarlosHernandez-hl7syDon’t export gas to Korea China Japan
@rapeko88How did humans achieve this in little over 100 years 🤔
@goodbouy8503Do they really think wind energy is "environmentally friendly"...?
They disrupt bird migration routes.
Birds and flying mammals die when they collide with the blades, especially at night.
They require fossil oil for lubrication.
They emit vibrations that disrupt birds' location.
They alter air currents.
The blades are not recyclable; once they reach the end of their useful life, they end up in open-air graveyards.
If they are near the sea, the noise and vibrations generally disrupt the echolocation of fish and marine mammals.
I worked as an Independent Contractor for just over four years on a small FOB in Pasaab Province - Afghanistan. Also worked 12hr shifts, one day off per week. DFAC chow was okay-ish, mostly. Had to work outside 80% of the time, come summer heat (hovering around 50'C) or winter rain. Got the at least once a month random "hello there" rocket or morter over the Hesco walls. 28 days RnR was every 4-6 months, depending on availability. Internet black-outs was frequent, at least 2 out of every 10 days. No Cell signal. Got 68K per year. Think I was in the wrong trade ... But that first beer when departing Kabul for Dubai was heavenly.
@MervinDeJager-o2sworking silently non stop??? Says a money hungry keyboard expert in nothing. Get a rig gig and learn summit.
@user-Rocket-Festgood reason to invest in alternatives.. solar, wind...
@Jack-ne8vmYou are full of " s" bye. I wish you'd stop.
@thomasmcmillan5397Would u cheat on him honestly asking
@Gtownmob850how the hell you going to leave out the most essential aspect of all things offshore??? THE BOATS!!!!
@greaterthings5652Its all nice and sweet but no body tells you how to get a foot in the door.
@kfckfc961I only heard break, break, meal break, training, courses, call their family, meal, ah yeah some work in beteween?....
@ElSanto0044I quit offshore work, since its not worth at all.. at first it seems promising but after few years it start pointless.. tbh in my country we paid very small amount of money since the company and contractors are going sh!ts.. lets say the company make a agreement with contractor for minimum wages and the contractor only pay 20% of real amount and said “its according your daily basic income our contract” and the 80% of it get into the company cash as profit. What now? Rich? Fair? No way! I suggest to every single oil company that interested to invest in my county +62 just getaway, you just make us more fatigue and desperate since your contract with the contractors are going fraud
@KelapaSekolahAll those breaks😮 I’m in😂
@Maggie4567-o8hIf they were only paying 40 to 60,000 a year to do that shit I would go crazy. I make 140 doing water treatment on the land. I work 100 hours a week, but I’m not getting kicked around by waves all day
@BrassAndBeardsNarration sucks butt
