Toronto was a wonderful city to live in before the mid 70s. A huge influx of European immigrants came over during the 50s and 60s (such as my parents) and, despite having little to no education, most were able to purchase homes and pay them off in less than ten years. The city was by far cleaner, greener, safer and friendlier then, and heavy traffic was never an issue. I was born in Toronto and witnessed many changes over the decades. I would never raise a family here now. It's primarily a city for young people who need a career and for those looking for a variety of dining experiences, theatrical entertainment or sporting events. My husband and I moved out of the city a couple of years agoโand we don't miss it one bit. We are still in Ontario, but the province has infinitely better places in which to live. Don't just follow the crowd into a city that is making you pay dearly to be buried under heavy glass and concrete. You and your family deserve so much better than that.
