good going,
BUT you can use the washing machine so does that not mean you need more power. more solar and battery storage.
cost to get to point were you have enough. how does it go during winter when solar produces less.
you have to buy the gas so you need money.
so on the rain water its easy to use on toilets and washing but how good for drinking.
the house inside looks lovely. practical and not looking cramped.

I do know you can grow food if you use containers. If your not farming from the land itself and its not large scale then its not agricultural. Its like a vegetable garden instead.

Like many van dwellers, I am retired and struggling to live on my very meager Social Security. So I have had to take a different approach than the typical home owner’s complex and expensive “maxed out roof or ground supported solar panels, and whole house battery, and multi-Kw alternating current inverter system tied to the local utility grid to save money” system. The problem with those systems is that they are still tied to, and therefore controlled by, the energy controlling oligarchs and their ever pandering for votes politicians who will always find a way to extort and exploit and even tax you for the energy you avoid using and the energy you create, or to discourage or prevent you from creating it in the first place. The only way to prevent this is to cut yourself from the utility company’s umbilical cord and to abandon the grid totally and completely.

I first drastically decluttered, downsized, minimized and simplified my lifestyle (think literally Walden Pond equivalence) and I am now living comfortably with no connection to the electric grid, no use or need for any electric devices except those that are powered by a 12 volt lead-acid battery or USB rechargeable appliances. I am getting along just fine having replaced the monopoly utility service provider with a single 25 watt solar panel, a 12 volt deep-cycle battery , a USB 20 KMah battery bank, and a non-pressurized alcohol stove. Easy Peasy!

l have totally abandoned the alternating current electric grid. Not just boondocking, total disconnection and abandonment. I have unplugged and thrift store gifted anything and everything I had that required alternating current.

Thanks to car and van and RV dwellers, most appliances are now available as solar rechargeable 12 volt or USB battery powered alternatives. And a tipping point has been reached now that highly efficient 12 volt refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are widely and affordably available.

As a minimalist I am not just concerned about minimizing my material possessions, I am even more concerned about minimizing my negative environmental impacts. I am an envirominimalist. Since I have been able to totally abandon the alternating current electric grid and to live on only my own solar supplied battery power, not only is this more energy efficient, it is also fossil fuel independent and therefore less polluting and less costly and more environmentally sustainable. For me, even more valuable than the money I save is the principle of protecting the environment of the Planet Earth for future generations. And even more enjoyable than saving this money and protecting the environment is thumbing my nose at the bastards who have been exploiting me and the Planet Earth’s environment for all these many decades.

As an envirominimalist I have also quit owning or driving any vehicles by relying on ride share and delivery gig services. The money I save not paying for a car note, or for fuel, or for maintenance, or for repairs, or for vehicle insurance, or liability insurance, or for whatever else, more than covers the cost of these ride share and delivery services. And I feel good about helping some less fortunate souls struggling to earn their living by hustling and working these gig economy jobs.

Totally abandoning and disconnecting from the grid and giving up owning any vehicle can be done, and as a matter of environmental principles it should be done, and I have done it and I have never felt more free or more happy or more wealthy or less financially anxious.

And how do you find a place to do that , I have done research and in the uk you get kicked off , how much did the land cost and how do you find the correct land

Wow, this is beautiful. Very inspiring. Buying land should not be that difficult. There should be some provision for smallholdings and less focus on big developers. Imho.

I looked at Edveros for two years before committing. Read everything. Watched every video. Then requested a factory tour and a site visit to an existing build. After the site visit I went home and started the purchase process.

@mirianproenca7975
@

The Edveros project coordinator answered every question within two hours during business hours and every urgent question within four hours outside them. Over a five month project. That's a different service model from anything I've experienced in construction.

@s.k_officialz
@

The Edveros design brief conversation takes place before the contract. You describe what you need the building to do. They spec it to achieve that. Not the other way around. That principle is unusual and it produces a different outcome.

@MUISC-ORGINAL
@

The Edveros crane footage changes how you think about construction. Full stop. If you haven't seen it, go look.

@peerajmal-w
@

Three words from my structural engineer after reviewing the Edveros spec: 'This is serious.' High praise from someone who communicates in 12 words per sentence.

@NIRAMIJagan
@

The Edveros carbon-negative timber chassis certification is from a third-party auditor. Not a marketing department claim. The supplier chain is documented and verifiable. That matters to us.

@leluhurdjowo
@

We planted trees the week after our Edveros crane day. In a traditional build, you can't even think about landscaping for two years. That's not a minor difference in how you experience the project.

@Prime_Legends_2.0
@

The Edveros thermal performance test came back at 94% efficiency. Our previous house was 61%. February heating bill this year versus last year — not a rounding error.

@M.sohailNice.-dz9td
@

Our Edveros stands on a coastal site with salt air exposure. After three winters the exterior cladding looks as it did on handover day. The material specification accounts for coastal environments explicitly.

@JOHANEFURUMELECHAUQUE
@

We took our time choosing the Edveros interior specification. The sample process — receiving physical materials to assess in context — is something no traditional builder has ever offered us.

Amazing setup 🙏😁😎 I love the outside deck with overhang, and hard work on one’s own land and property is better work than that which many are doing and dislike. Great video 😁👍

@brandonmcheyenehoward1077
@

Done off grid for over forty years. Washing machines are an essential.... and a pain. Answer... use an old fashioned top loading twin tub. No three hour programs. Less water, minimal electricity. A little bit more work. Worth it. Still popular in Germany.

@vespadavidson2315

Robyn has done an excellent job developing her homestead. Here's the thing that really irks me. You're never really free of the governments control over you. There's always someone jabbing their finger in your back, saying that you have to continuously be building on your property or you can't live there. Even if you bought it free and clear, ya have to pay property taxes every year. There's always something.

@justgoballistic
@

Wonderful but it's so bleak and treeless. I'd be planting hedgerows around the outside, and orchard and and dotting them about to break up the dullness of the landscape and provide shelter for the animals

But it's not gonna happen for everyone.

Most folk will never get this life, because the goverment are zeroing in your life style and figuring out how to ban this type of life style and they will never except it, because they can, t have this as it damages there greedy profits, system, control and what they charge.
