Hi, I'm from Brazil and I've been to Lofoten Islands last month. It was my first time to Lofoten and for me it was a great pleasure, but I want to go back in the month of february for two reasons; the 1st, to spend my birthday (1st of february) and the second to see the Northern Lights. Ive stayed in A which was very cool and Ive done the famous Reinebringen trail with its 1978 steps. I thought to go to Narvik, which is cheaper, but not so much difference compare to Lofoten. I think If I stay in Lofoten in A or other village, I think the spetacle of the Lights will be great. Of course, it will very cold for a brazilian like me who lives close to the Amazon region where the temperature never gets below 28ºC. Well, thats all for the moment, if you want to add something, feel free to help me with this Odyssey. Congretulations for the information. Ill see it again and again. They live in a complete harmnony. They have a word for that: Frilufstliv. If paradise exists, is not far from Nortway!
:::: Detailed Itinerary ::::
Day 1: Fly into Tromsø
Thanks very much for an excellent guide. Though there are more than a ton of guides to Senja and Lofoten on YouTube, I found yours to be straightforward, no-nonsense, informative, and with the right pace for us.
Day 2: Visit Tromsø, hike Ørnfløya, night in Sommarøy
Day 3: Ferry from Brensholmen to Senja, hike Segla, night in Gryllefjord
Very informative, thank you
Day 4: Ferry from Gryllefjord to Andenes, hike Måtind, night in Nordmela
Day 5: Drive from Nordmela to Svolvaer (via Sortland), night hike Svolvaer Fløya
What does it mean when it says 4 hour RT? Does that mean one way? Or both ways?
Day 6: Day trip from Svolvaer to visit Henningsvaer
Day 7: Drive from Svolvaer to Hamnøy, visit Haukland & Uttakleiv beaches, Lofotr Viking Museum, & Nusfjord en route
We visited Lofoten at the beginning of May, and there were almost no tourists. It was the perfect time to go, as the days were long and most of the snow had melted. You are welcome to see it for yourself in the video we've made 🤗
Day 8: Hike Mount Ryten
Day 9: Hike Helvetestinden (ferry from Reine to Vindstad to trailhead)
Thank you for such a good video of Northern Norway.🎉 My maternal side came from Oslo but my paternal side are from the Lofton islands. My grandmother said the last name was Inglebrightsons but when people emigrated in the early 20th century to Canada they took the name of the farm. The farms name was Vall place and when my grandmother went to visit in the 1980s and her old house was still standing. Sadly I don't know the exact location. I have dreams of returning to Norway. ❤
Day 10: Drive from Hamnøy to Bogen, hike from Unstad to Eggum on the way
Day 11: Drive from Bogen to Tromsø
What a great video! Great info.. do you think September first week is a good time to go?
Day 12: Depart Tromsø

@chanthataing7042Great video. Thanks for sharing
@yllfareDid you book your accommodations in advance or just find them on the fly? We have been told it can be very tough to find accommodations in June/July without advance booking.
@LorettaVibbertsNice 😍👍
@marcterryjadal6520You Tube SHADOWBANNING- also in Norway, same like META censorship here.😁
@tyskerbarn1963Thanks for informing me. Love Norway
@abhijitshirtode8190Settlements in Lofoten doesn't only "date back to the viking age". It's MUCH MUCH MUCH older. The viking age started 1.230 years ago (in 793), the first settlements in Lofoten were around 10.000 years ago, meaning EIGHT TIMES older.
Apart from that, great video from my region of the world - thanks :)

@wii4287Thanks for the incredible inputs Caleb - Can you share more details on the Car hire ? The van cost you mentioned for 12 days is quite inexpensive compared to the other options i am seeing online. Would be great if you can share details on the rental service you used please. Cheers. Yogesh
@yogeshdawareC est quoi cette voix d outre tombe !!!!c est d une tristesse....

@ocdomerThanks for the Magic of the imagen, soft voice and rekaxing music.
I expect to return for 3rd time to this small heaven on northearth, in spite of his terrible prices.
Thanks again
Thank you Caleb for sharing. Is this itinerary valid in late February, especially the ferries and hikes ? Thanks
@anasolabi8804I love seeing the landscape of Norway, Thanks for sharing
@chuckmaurice3646Thank you for the information and the beautiful pictures. I'm planning to travel there in july 2023 but I'm not going to rent a car. I'm a public transport person and I found that where the rails end, Norway has decent bus services. I might not be able to get to the most remote corners but I also don't have to spend thousands on transportation alone that way. I still have to work out details such as where to stay overnight and who to visit, but I'll get to it.
@uncinaryninwhere is a good website to rent a mini-van, auto in Lofoten? Thanks
@Harley94127Hello! What were your travel dates for this video? early June?
@ctasse3I, like so mnay others, loved this video. Could you share the name of the airbnb in Hamnoy? I didn't see anything that seemed right. Thank you!

@bambo8585Great video, thanks!
@ikontr4865Great vid. V helpful. Thanks
@bmonck5110Thank you for sharing this lovely video that captures many of the beautiful natural scenery.
@JapanvideographyVery useful info! Thanks a lot!
By the way, may you provide the web for mini-Van booking? Looks like it is not easy to find 7 seaters in Denmark.
Very informative video. Thank you!!
@brahim3526Wonderful video. Your better versus some high end travel channels. Thank you.
@williamgunderson81Great information Caleb. Not sure if you mentioned or responded to any questions related to the rental cars in Norway/Tromso.
@ndf1961Wow! Beautiful! Thank you!
@MariaReyes-te7lkGreat video, I really enjoyed - beautiful scenery well filmed, nice production and voice over.
@shadyberero6809Quick question - Do you think its possible to see some of southern Norway in the same trip? (Stavingar, Bergen, Geirangerfjord) or is the country just too spread out to enjoy it all in the same trip?
@ryancrits8180真的很棒 謝謝你
@hung5125At least in my XP as a southern Norwegian, June is probably the best month to visit the north. It's almost always wet anyway. In spring and early summer from melt water, in late summer and autumn from rain. The weather tends to be best in late May/June. But I would be very hard pressed to suggest a time of year to tourists where they don't run a somewhat severe risk of becoming wet. Rain jacket, a good sweater, the best footwear you can afford, some sort of a hat and optimism are the things you will need on holiday in Norway. Also money.
PS: Winter can be amazing too. It can also be absolutely horrible. Upside is clear, still weather, deep cold and northern lights swirling across the stars. Downside is clouds at ground level and a blizzard/rainstorm simultaneously in the dark while rivers of melted snow threaten to elope with you out to sea.. It rains down first and then back up again for good measure. And a little sideways and some round and round to make sure you get wet. You won't be able to see a damn thing either and might as well vacation inside your cupboard at home.
