First set was defeating for M he had to do all of that just to win. He knew he couldn’t keep up that pace and placement for another 3. C didn’t go all in the first set but just played hard enough to coast to a loss and drain M.

Even though Musetti lost this match he has the game and tenacity to beat Alcaraz. Some really great fight by Lorenzo. Carlos just being Carlos. Clay is unforgiving.

I think Alcaraz was a little lucky there, Musetti was reading him better than I've seen other plays. That said, I think Musetti might not have been able to keep the tempo up. A win is a win, and Alcaraz played beast mode - congrats!

Musetti needs a more penetrating forehand it sits up to much and is easy to attack.
