Man Transforms Old Italian Barn into Amazing Villa | 3-Years Timelapse by @VillaAroldi

Video Overview & Insights

Witness a once-forgotten Italian barn come back to life in this breathtaking 3-year timelapse. What began as a crumbling countryside building near Parma becomes a warm, modern villa filled with light, character, and the spirit of its past. Follow Henrik and Anna as they tear down old walls, battle hidden structural problems, rebuild floors, create a cozy sauna and cold plunge, and gently uncover the beauty buried beneath decades of dust. Every step is a fight against time, fatigue, and unexpected challenges—but also a celebration of hope, patience, and craftsmanship. This is more than a renovation… it’s the rebirth of a home and the story of a couple transforming ruins into their dream life. Perfect for anyone who loves emotional restorations, barn conversions, and start-to-finish journeys filled with heart.

Di solito i muri e pilastri portanti non si toccano. Ha indebolito molto la casa

So, maybe I missed it, but I didn't see hardhats, goggles, or masks. My father would have insisted on steeltoe workboots in a construction zone. Also, much of this construction could not hzve passed in either of my countries, New Zealand or California. I'd heard that the EU has serious regulations around things like construction. Apparently not. I was especially surprised by the constfuction choic3s because I thought that like New Zealand and Calafornia, Italy gets loads of earthquakes. Earthquake codes are rigorous - to be safe.

Can’t believe that is the kitchen. A tiny tiny space with so much room elsewhere. Can’t be correct

Con uno stravolgimento di questo tipo, avrebbe fatto prima a costruirla nuova da zero. In oltre quei muri vecchi, all'interno e/o all'esterno daranno sempre problemi di umidità.... Terzo non vedo l'economicità di un tale lavoro....

Sorry, but this kind of construction seems very unorganizes. Already furnishing when even concrete pouring is not finished.
The house has nearly no windows. Insulation from inside is not healthy.
They could have made much more nicely of this barn.
I think its a missed chance. 😢😢

I don't need to leave any further comment; most commenters are saying what I think. What a shame about this building.

Internal isolation: bad choice. Internal moisture barrier: bad choice. Drywall: bad choice.
With fundamental technical mistakes, you turned a potential jewel into a very problematic property

Never in my life would I ruin such a glorious building with such solutions. Not in Italy.

Nice project but ehhm. One tip: never line up your drywall boards in one continuous seam. Always stagger the joints, ideally in a running bond pattern, and offset each board by at least about 20 cm to reduce the risk of cracking over time.
