Le célèbre bassiste new-yorkais Marcus Miller, nourri de jazz et de soul, offre une performance pleine de générosité au public du TSF Jazz Chantilly Festival.
Multi-instrumentiste d’exception, Marcus Miller a collaboré avec les plus grands noms du jazz et du R&B : Miles Davis, bien sûr, mais aussi Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers ou encore Luther Vandross.
Awesome
Lauréat de deux Grammy Awards, ainsi que d’une Victoire du Jazz en 2010, il est nommé en 2013 Artiste de l’UNESCO pour la paix et devient porte-parole du projet La Route de l’Esclave. Ses engagements humanitaires ont d’ailleurs inspiré Afrodeezia, un album paru en 2015, profondément ancré dans l’histoire de l’esclavage et nourri de ses voyages à travers l’Afrique.
Notre dernière rencontre avec Marcus Miller remonte à 2019, lors du festival Marseille Jazz des Cinq Continents. À l’époque, le génie de la basse nous faisait découvrir Laid Back — une savoureuse fusion musicale où se mêlaient trap, hip-hop, R’n’B et gospel. Six ans plus tard, c’est avec le même enthousiasme qu’on se laisse à nouveau surprendre par l’esprit frondeur de Marcus Miller.

I just saw them in concert at Jazz Alley in Seattle, it was a religious experience! I had to whoop like a wild Banshee after a song. Thank goodness I can hear them here. Thank you for this musical healing by the whole band! They are all musical geniuses. I wish they lived next door to me. Share this and tell people to see them in person. Buy their music! Sorry I did not get their CDs. Had to catch a ferry.
