I thought Toto was happy with Ant and George and Max move not happening. This withdrawal may be a signal though. George is definitely feeling hardby and correctly. Whatever Toto's reason, he knew it would make a crappy feeling George feel more crappy. I'd like to know how he justified it with George, and what recent convo's Toto's had with Max, 'cos Max isn't a happy bunny at RB.

Oh the irony, George is not a champion, I dont think he ever will be; talented nonetheless. Hamilton is gonna win the championship this year, Mercs are gonna struggle with reliability, still, as well as an interesting team dynamic. One driver is winning the championship in point at the moment, and one driver thinks he deserves to be winning a championship points this year. George is gonna crash out like Alonso did at McLaren when Lewis "Kimi'd" him.

If George and the team would have just served the penalty correctly, he would have never gotten the drive threw and could have finished in the points, perhaps on the podium. So don’t see how the really had a leg to stand on in the appeal. I’m mean Lewis served his and so did Hadjar I believe and they finished on the podium on the road.

The comparison to AD 2021 is flawed. Voiding the entire race over what happened in the last lap was not the solution. The solution always has been to Voiding lap 58 but the racist FIA were determined to install a fake champion and so that 2021 debacle will always be a stain on the FIA and the gifted title will be an albatross around Max’s neck.

Massa court case has changed the perspective on races like this, they should null and void the race and have it as a non championship race. The only reason mercedes have dropped out is they know this could happen and Kimi loses points, reducing his advantage

Russell problem was the team putting more front wing on by mistake and so why he lost pace, also Kimi went over track limits with his 'alternative lines ' the Kimi glazing is getting ridiculous.

@RodneyAEvansMercedes has been smart over years, they always push a valid case against FIA once they know that they are right they withdraw the case in essence it leaves FIA in a bad state owing them and with tied hands not to punish them in the next encounter. Like in this case FIA is now owing Russell and Mercedes and mercedes next mistake will be a "no further action"

people may not realise that if mercedes could have changed the result of the monaco gp without issuing a review after the race it would make a precedent that could potentially cost hamilton his championship in 2008. The singapore gp was officialy cheated and the f1 head at the time actually stated it couple years ago, now if mercedes can change a result without making an official protest right after the race it means that any team can change a result of any race in time that was officialy cheated, hence the hamilton case of 2008.
@7om015I imagine Mercedes dropped the appeal because there’s a risk the race might be nullified and they’d lose Antonelli’s win.
