Losing closely this year and being in the battle would lead me to believe the USMNT had actually moved forward and grown, now I just think once we get any competition we are still a low level team and will get crushed. I’d rather have hope of being like wow we’re close to getting over the hump! I guess I’d rather be close in any sport, it’s much more fun to watch that way. But I’m also a MN sports fan so getting close and choking is basically the optimal experience
