Moving to Korea With My Dog | My Korean Apartment Tour

Video Overview & Insights

At 27, I decided to quit my job, pack up my life, and move back to South Korea with my dog. In this video, I'll take you through my journey moving abroad and settling into my new apartment in Korea.

I watched a video of a woman studying Chemistry at SNU who said it’s almost impossible to complete a Master’s in Korean. I’m 28 and unsure if pursuing a Master’s in Korea is realistic, but it’s my dream to settle there. I don’t want to study another degree in my country since my main goal is to learn Korean and integrate into the culture. However, I’m also worried that doing a Master’s in English in Korea might leave me unable to work properly if I don’t reach a strong Korean level. I’m confused about the best path to settle there while improving my Korean. face-pink-tearspenguin-blue-waving-tear

✔️ Moving to South Korea as a foreigner

Hi, I’m Chris, 28, from Colombia, planning to emigrate to Korea. I have an MBA but little specialized experience. I want to prepare 1–1.5 years to qualify for an E7 visa. Should I focus on Corporate Finance, Data Analysis, or Data Science? Any tips to settle in Korea fast?

Mold has more to do with moisture, lack of ventilation and location, as opposed to the previous tenants uncleanliness, no? If that apartment is situated near a water source, cold room, basement, expect the mold to be a recurring issue

I hope you changed apartments by now, mold is a serious health hazard! When it looks moldy like that outside, usually means inside the wall is probably rotten.

Please require your landlord to have a professional company do mold remediation because, unfortunately, your efforts will not suffice if you want a permanent solution. Then afterwards work on mold prevention remedies to sustain their work. All the best to you and Bronco. Stay healthy and safe.❤

The place looks nice! So happy to see you came with your dog. A dehumidifier will take care of the mold i have 2 of them running nonstop in the summer and they fill up once a day...if you want to see an insane amount of mold, i made a video of the place I moved into. Even the cleaning ladies said it was the worst theyd ever seen and all they do is clean apartments every day!

Hi,
I just became a subscriber and so far I like it. Very informative. Be careful of the mold have that taken care of as soon as possible also keep the toilet seat cover down (preventative measure for Bronco) ❤

that apartment is out of pocket for letting you move into that unit when it is unsafe wow i hope you can be somewhere safer. it puts a lot on your lungs and body to having to breath in mold all day and night

I am currently staying in an apartment with mold and thank God I am moving but the thing that helped me the most was getting an air purifier. air purifiers with HEPA filters have blue light which kill mold so it’s not in the air that you breathe.. It also removes skin cells from humans and animals, so I highly recommend one for you. Stay happy & healthy ❤

Don’t know if you’ve heard of namane card but there are a few kiosks around Seoul and they can be used everywhere as a check card. Online and as a transportation card as well. 3:48

10:03 i would've had a fit lol. Thankfully there was a fee for not cleaning so my apt was clean when I arrived but I definitely still scrubbed and checked

what camera do you use to film? the quality looks great! good luck on your new journey in korea :)

@cozylofijazzambientmusic

Ask for new accommodations, mold is fast spreading and could make you and your puppy really sick. You don't know who far it's permeated into the structure and if it spread bleach will not be strong enough.

@xoxonastasia
@

Can you talk about the quarantine process for bringing a dog to South Korea and the experience of moving with a pet? I'm considering moving back there with my dog as well. Thank you! 😊

New subscriber here! I’m interested in knowing about your apartment process. When looking for jobs did you work with an agency to help you secure a position that provided dog friendly housing? I’m planning to bring my dog and a lot of agencies I’ve reached out to have stressed how hard it is to find dog friendly housing and have told me to leave her behind in the states 😭

@Merkyis
@

Mood isn’t a Hygiene problem it’s moisture in the air and lack of ventilation, vinegar won’t help you because that mold is pretty bad bleach won’t be that helpful either keep the humidifier running constantly and ask if you can move to a different place

@justsimplyree6712
@

I hope you’re gonna find a new apartment soon because this one is kinda tight and the mold too.
I hope you’re not claustrophobic

I don't understand why people don't just get dehumidifiers... They really help keep the mold away...

@NovaDoll
@

Honestly with teacher housing I have seen and heard a lot of accommodations in Korea are in buildings with mold issues. The mold probably isn’t due to the previous tenant. The buildings used for some teacher accommodation are usually older ones with less climate control and weather resistance because they are more cost affective for bulk rentals. I would get a dehumidifier immediately and ask them to treat the affected areas soon if they haven’t already. Also, a diluted vinegar spray works well for mold and is generally safe for dogs. I would find a dog sitting area locally too for long days though. Mold and mold treatment can be especially harmful to dogs and people.

I’d ask the school to have the aparment’s owners/sup what have you to take care of that mold problem, or be moved into something else. Ideally moved into something else that has no mold ^^

Yey new subscriber here! So cute you moving with your dog. Is it ok to take the bus/subway any time of the day with him? Here in São Paulo (Brazil) we can't in the rush hours. I really want to move to Korea, but I would also have to take my dog with me (it is a sausage dog 😊), if it is possible could you please make a video on how was the arrangements and docs to take him to Korea?
Also, thank you for the tour in your apartment, the time I travel to Korea I stayed at an Airbnb that the smell of mold was so strong 😭 I hope you can fix it!
