My diagnosis
Video Overview & Insights
opening up about what I recently found while doing an health check
Are you celiac? Osteopenia is a condition regularly related to celiac disease. I had it.
Got better after I had the celiac disease diagnosis and just stopped eating gluten.
Try checking with a gastroenterologist. Cheers.

I'm a doctor and a lifelong musician. Bones are living organs and they get stronger when you put stress on them, and thin and weak when you don't. Bicycling, weightlifting, hiking, these things will put stress on your bones and they will become stronger. VERY important that you get more sunlight or take vitamin D supplements. YOUR DOCTOR TOLD YOU TO TAKE CALCIUM BUT IT'S A WASTE OF TIME. IT'S VITAMIN D THAT YOU REALLY NEED. Next, find one of those 13 lb maple 1970s Peavy basses and do some squats while you're practicing 💪🏼
@808DocKeep on slapping brother! Stay well!
@FiuranBandKeep possitive and you'll be fine
Lots of sunshine
Bootsy believed in the "ONE." It is funky to do the one thing that matters. It is the essence of bass and the essence of life. Thanks for sharing, drink water, hug your girl, stay funky, and keep slapping. Opps, one at a time, not all at once.
@danielwiedenhoff9974Milk ice cream and cheese all have lots of calcium. Eat a lot of those so your body has ready reserves to increase the bone density.
@BobSmith-fx5ttYou are still No country for old men scary,chin up bro❤️
Good luck!
@maha-z1q9mThe joke? Good grief!! Stop worrying... I was diagnosed with osteopenia... it was then, after re-examination of the results of my DEXA scan it has been reassessed as osteoporosis. It happens!
The joke was fine.
It was harmless fun. People like me ( with osteoporosis) and I am sure a vast number of others...treat this as a serious issue...BUT manageable! So having a laugh at it and ourselves...IS ABSOLUTELY FINE!
I am sure your doctor has explained... and NO I do not mean to make light of it... you are not alone!
Whether you think you are now paying for the joke or it was offensive... DON'T!! You had the nerve/the desire...the balls to talk about it...Good for you!
This isn't/wasn't offensive to me, I know I cannot speak for everyone. I am getting on for twice your age and only found out last month. You are a young man... you will adapt far easier than me! 😁
I found out AFTER an injury. I simply tripped on something in my house, just something on the floor I didn't notice...everyday accident.
I fell with my back flat against my bedroom wall, and slid down to the floor...you'd think if any fall were to happen...the best way... I was going to land on my a+s! Padding a plenty! 🤣
But the undiagnosed bone strength deficiency meant I ended up with a fractured vertebrae. Compression fracture. OWWW!!!!
Had I known ( now you do know) I would have been on treatment earlier and would have taken a little more care around my house. I can and am addressing this bad news with simple medication and exercise. Vit C & D , weight bearing when I can... and just reminding myself what I shouldn't do...that's it.
The broken spine? That was and is painful... the fracture I mean. That will heal, slower for me...again I am older than you.
That was at the start of Feb...no one bothered with the density scan until this last month...The NHS is NOT all it is made to be. Or I just fell through the net as it were.
Dave I am not saying it is nothing... not at all, I am very sorry you have this...but to beat yourself up over a joke?
The joke didn't bother me in the slightest.
I am trying clumsily to say...head up mate, it isn't the end of the world, not at all...it will just have to be a little different for you...and you'll learn to be just that little bit more careful. It isn't fun...to find out... but take it as it comes...fight it that way.
👍
@jazziejimThank you for speaking up. It will help someone else in the long run. Thumbs up.
@jeffreybaker4399When I was 27, I went blind in my left eye and lost feeling on my left side. Soon after, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was really messed up for the better part of a year, but then I made a miraculous recovery. I had to teach myself how to play guitar again. I just turned 48 last week, and I am still doing great. Now I build vacuum tube amplifiers and I make YouTube videos. Every day above ground is a good day!
@MendittoAmplificationI got a mini-trampoline, called a rebounder. I play bass while bouncing. You should try it. It's good for your bones. Also your heart. And with practice, you can use it to keep time.
@robr177Not medical student here: could your osteopenia be related to Marfan syndrome (tall, hyperflex...): in which case it shouldn't be a problem in itself but make sure to have an ultrasound exam of your heart
@novemberindia9305Weight bearing high impact exercises to strengthen bones is the best way to do it. Take care and keep moving.
@man_of_warGo for weightlifting friend. God loves you<3
@vindactor5138Just in case: check for celiac disease as well. Sometimes nutritient intake does not work well then and even causes bone and ligament damage
@buddlersenI thought it meant you had a bone in your pp
@_bruddyYour health come first, brother, you'll still have plenty of time to slap bass.
@alainsuero65YOU ARE CLOSE TO 14M SUBS DAVİE
@0furkanyalcin0Osteopenia literally translates as bone dick, or, in the vernacular of the peasantry, boner.
@Rob_Bertram3:03 probably 14M subs by June 1st 💪
@ProgWork1Why don’t you just make videos about your training.
@doubled5383Health health health. It’s all that matters.
@doubled5383Take K2mk7 with D3 for bone health..❤
@chrisdejong9116K2 and D3 gets the calcium into your bones. You are also sanpaku a Japanese term that says your whites of your eyes is showing on three sides of your pupil indicating an imbalance. I've noticed this over the years that I've watched your videos
@rondo8679He needs some milk
@bluntpencil2667Exercise already!
@SpritsailorI have been deceived and not believed in once saved always saved too. My story a lot of stuff had to be crossed out by the Blood of Jesus
God does not want anyone to perish. God loves everyone. God does what He can to save people.
Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary who conceived by God. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus never sinned. He did no violence and there was no deception found in His mouth. Jesus raises the dead, heals people, and casts out devils. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Jesus was crucified and died for the sins of the world. Jesus's Blood was shed so that we could be forgiven. Jesus was buried in a sepulcher/tomb. God resurrected Jesus from death to Life on the third day. Jesus left the tomb. Jesus was seen, heard and touched by witnesses who said that Jesus lives. Jesus was seen by Mary Magdalene and other women. Jesus was seen by Peter, the Twelve, over 500 brethren at once, James, all the apostles and Paul. Paul became a believer after Jesus appeared and talked to Him. Before that Paul persecuted the church. Jesus ascended to heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. Jesus will return to the earth. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Jesus Christ is Lord. Read the four Gospels and Acts in the New Testament in the Bible. I was God's enemy but God loved me so much that He gave His Son Jesus to die for me so I could be His friend and have total forgiveness, love and eternity with Him. Praise God and thank you Jesus for the sacrifice you made.
WORKOUT!!! Play the double bass💪💪more, travel with it on your back, lol💪💪
@celloprofvitamin d3+ k2 10000iu d3 and 100mg k2, this will help with calcium absorbtion
@u007jamesLol this is very overdramatic
@Ajay7sevenLots of yoghurt and garlic Davie and you'll be fine. And red wine, cause it's good for everything.
@iga279Rooting for you!
@ThreadsofHomeStudiodamn, sorry to hear that, but glad that you're managing (and that you're transparent about it.) perhaps bass can stand for Bones Aren't Sufficiently Solid?
@scezuminThank you for sharing! It has reminded me that health should be the priority!
@dashaenI am confused. The guy doesn’t blink.
@alshoesDear Davie504, we will pray for your health. Jesus does miracles. Greetings from Croatia!
@AdastraBand..... do it out side, stay at sunlight, i will help a lot too. The sun is much more imnportant that what doctors think. And I also its hard for me to gain wait. The answer is not eating more.. I eat a lot already. Its what yoyr organism do with what you eat.
@augustohernandezayala6312ask your doctor how much vitamin D3 you need to take daily. it makes the calcium absorb.
@rileymore4051You could also do training videos too, idk xdd
@Kuzuryu67Buon fortuna
@MyklFTWIch wünsche Dir viel Kraft und alles Gute🤘
