Living in a temperate rainforest on a pacific Island on the west coast of Canada is spectacular. Nanaimo, British Columbia is an exceptional place to live if you have a family, are a senior retiring, or are a student attending University. The weather here rarely rises above 28ΒΊC and seldom falls below 5ΒΊC. Our peak rain months are during December and January having 15 days of rain on average. During the summer months, fewer the four days of rain per month are experienced, and the weather is spectacular.

Nanaimo and Victoria also in the rain shadow zone so in the winter time when you get storm systems you get less rainfall and less wind compared other spots on Vancouver Island Nanaimo is definitely not one of the sunniest places to live in Canada in fact there's always going to be more cloudy days most of Canada get but late spring and summer can be very sunny here snowfall occasionally occurs at least once sometimes twice a winter there an Arctic outflow event and Nanaimo can get some big dumps of snow that can be high impact do to occurring right around the freezing mark most of these cold events only last a week some tend to linger longer but they only occur a couple of times each winter and when they do they don't last long

@mannyking663As a life-long climatology research guy I need to add a couple of comments here.
Firstly, the south-central (eastern) coastal region of Vancouver Island does not actually have a temperate-rainforest climate zone.
It is a KΓΈppen Csb (warm Mediterranean) climate. Which means it receives more than 60% of its annual rainfall in just 4 months of the year (Nov thru Feb) and only 40% over the remaining 8 months of the year. So a distinct WET/DRY seasonal weather pattern.
Plus, three months of the year (Jul/Aug/Sep) all receive less than 40mm of rain each.
These factors put Nanaimo firmly in the KΓΈppen Csb (warm Mediterranean) climate zone.
The April thru Sep (6 month) period only gets (on average) 255mm of rain...which is very dry for any northern global latitude location.
Compared to nearby Victoria which only gets an incredibly low 137mm of rain...which is actually classed as an arid-semi-desert location.
Just to note, the Victoria to Nanaimo region actually receives less rainfall than Nice (France) Barcelona (Spain) Dubrovnik (Croatia) Trieste (Italy) and even Rome (Italy)...from April thru October....that's how dry our "dry season" actually is...to put it into perspective.
That's why the Cowichan Valley region is an excellent vineyard, wine growing area...and fresh Croatian, Italian, and Turkish FIGS grow abundantly here in Nanaimo. Not to mention that all the local grass burns off to yellow come July every summer.
The average high temps in Nanaimo for September is 20.9Β°C, October 14.6Β°C and November 9.3Β°C...a little different than your figures.
Living here in Nanaimo from say early May through to early October always reminds me of my spring/summers spent in the south of France, northern Italy, and the Balkans region. It's very similar, and in fact, Nanaimo experiences a milder winter than many locations actually situated in the real Mediterranean...for example, it's warmer than places such as Venice, Zagreb, and even northern parts of Greece.

@anonamoose2876Spent the month of March @ Qualicum Beach this March. Started with a trace of snow, ended up around 10-15 degrees at the end. Put around 4,000Km on my daughter's car touring the island. Wonderful experience. Many affordable properties with attractive settings. Both our kids have moved to the area from Ontario and we can't wait to join them.
