Honesly i thought the ending was going to be that max died/ or was left paralysed or somthing and that at the end el would become normal and happy. But i think the ending they choose was because they were definitely not done with the franchise because of you know money.

Honestly best part of the show was Jamie Campbell Bowers performance, absolutely brilliant, I was more scared of him as Henry than him as Vecna. His performance truly carried the season on its back

Season 5 was fucked..

The ending to me felt like the Homer quote "THEN EVERYTHING IS WRAPPED UP IN A NEAT LITTLE PACKAGE."

I was playing Valheim while watching season 5 at the same time, and I can attest that the "second screen" mandate helped me understand just how mid the final season was (although it was still better than season 3, which I was watching without anything else distracting me).

Honestly- a better season 5 would’ve focused more on Vecnas psychologically terrorizing the cast- especially Mike! Because we haven’t had a window into his perspective since like season 3

Forever wishing this show stayed a limited series like it was supposed to in season 1.

Two things which I think contributed to the weaknesses of season 5: 1.) Instead of another full season, the ending to Stranger Things could have easily been a 2 or 3 hour movie to follow up season 4. I really do believe that the Duffers pushed the Holly story just because their ending needed a 'season' to back it up and they had no other ideas...
2.) I really do believe the Duffers were emotionally done with Stranger Things after season 4 ended. In interview after interview they kept saying that Stranger Things would last for "4 season, maybe 5. 4 seasons, maybe 5." By the time season 5 was greenlit, their love and attention was drawn to their future projects with Upside Down Pictures. So Netflix wanted their final season to rake in the views, and the Duffers just wanted Eleven's story to end. The end result was that Stranger Things 5 is somewhat phoned in, while most of their creative juice went to their future projects. Ironically, now I'd say those future projects are in jeopardy because everyone's upset with the ending to Stranger Things...

But when it comes to episodes I already saw, I just go on my iPad and draw away while listening at the same time. But when boring dialogue is happening, that’s when I go on my phone or IPad. You were so on point saying how tv shows now aren’t engaging or good enough.

One thing about this season is u have to of seen the stage show to understand anything like that whole Vecna going to school with Joyce is heavily talked about in the show

I loved season 1, 2 and 4. Season 3 seemed more like them just repeating the same pattern (imo!!), and while there were amazing visuals, I think the story was weaker. I really liked story and the changed style of storytelling in season 4, after rewatching I absolutely fell in love with it. Season 5 however…. Can’t we pretend like it didn’t happen? 😅 I’ll probably watch it one more time sometime, but omg why are some characters suddenly so numb?? I really liked Byler before, but actually hoped they won’t end up together, because Mike s4 and Mike s5 feels COMPLETELY DIFFERENT 😭
