I wouldn't be too concerned about StarFox sales. Nintendo is a company that prides themselves on replay value. StarFox feels more like a "proof-of-concept" type game than something they were banking on making top dollar.
I think that the reception of the game is what they care about the most and the vast majority of people that have played it all have maintained positive experiences. Even Digital Foundry gave it glowing reviews.
Likewise, while it certainly will do better sales-wise, I don't expect Halo: Combat Evolved to be a massive-seller either. Mostly because multiplayer is not in the game and that is what made Halo a monster.
StarFox last time I checked the eShop was still the 3rd-best selling game only behind recently released games. That's a good sign.
