Iran has reportedly rejected a US-backed ceasefire proposal delivered through Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, according to The New York Times. It's not a US backed ceasefire proposal, but a US requested ceasefire.
Despite of all the rhetoric of winning the war, the US is not achieving anything with their strikes on Iran, they are running out of offensive and defensive missiles and their strategic oil reserves are running on fumes.
A ground operation in Iran is not a viable option because it would most certainly turn into an outright debacle for the US forces, causing thousands of American casualties.
The US urgently needs a break and they are frantically looking for a way out of the conflict without losing face completely.
Iran is perfectly right to snub any request for a ceasefire and should not give the US and Israel any reprieve.
All it would achieve is to allow the US and Israel to re-arm, re-organize their military, refill their strategic oil reserves, to restart the fighting at a later stage.
As extensively demonstrated in the past, the US will never honor any agreement they make anyhow.
Keep the fighting going until the US fulfills every part of the agreement they signed up for in the MoU.
