Bluey mc'leannan was pushing for alot to happen with nz league back when he coached the kiwis and warrior's.
A rivalry between nth and sth and really utilizing the bartercard cup but that's all changed these day's.
Cameron george in an interview with vossy said it could happen but was along way off..
The NRL needs to keep it simple, the fan base wouldn't be happy with the news nth est wst sth conference structure because different teams have strong fan bases in different cities and it would effect related incomes and outcomes on merchandising etc..
2nd australian based nz team would be a great bet as the wahs were born in the covid era.
Player base is right there.

At what point does Tallis Duncan's name get mentioned in Origin talks?
Versatile, runs hard, finds holes, hits like a truck.
Genuinely seems like he would give his all for the state and grab the opportunity with both hands. Even if he is just brought into camp, because we know, he knows, iron sharpens iron. 💙
Also, watching tonight its so good to have The Cheese and Dave Fifita back playing good football. ❤💚

how does mase comment here about cleary facing adversity due to advanced defensive systems make any sense? Why can Tom Dearden drop in and get MOTM or sam walker in debut series carve opposition, but cleary has it harder?? with bulk attempts, half is club team around him and several years of depleted qld teams.
Levels Podcast:
Willie Mason & Justin Horo present Levels Podcast, twice a week reviewing & previewing all the NRL games also giving their best tips.
I wanna throw out a wildcard in the NSW coach debate. I don’t think you boys ever played for him but you have some good mates that did. He’s won multiple premierships, he’s played Origin, he’s a maverick, he is Des Hasler.
Hasler has shown he can unlock superstars like Turbo, Barba, DCE, Lyon and Stewart. He also understands the value of those ‘made for Origin’ tough bastards like Foz, grub, Josh Jackson and Watmough. He’s an out of the box thinker who will come with an innovative game-plan. He won’t worry about egos or reputations, or give a single flying F as to what the media or pundits think about the team he picks.
He isn’t perfect, nobody is. But I think some of his weaknesses as a coach are mitigated by the fact he’s not managing a squad through the whole season, he’s managing an elite group through 3 games. Maybe for NSW to start a new era, they need a circuit breaker, and Des could be that man.
Willie Mason is a former Kangaroo and NSW representative, is considered one of the most successful front rowers in NRL history. In 2004, he was a part of the famous 'Dogs of War' team that won the Grand Final, and he also received the Clive Churchill Medal during that match.
Justin Horo is a former NRL player who played 120 games for Parramatta and Manly from 2010 to 2015. In addition to playing in the UK Super League, he also represented the New Zealand Māori team.'

People forget how good Barrett was in Origin.
@tomelliott7123Fellas, really want your opinion on this. Just listen to the BTFU poddy with Reni and Braith. They spoke about reni getting sacked by NSWRL for having an opinion on his pod. What’s your reaction to that? I feel everyone is entitled to voice their opinion
@mitcelltaylor8395Didn’t Cleary play all games in 2018 and win that series?
@samturner6848Hey guys I know its controversial but I watched Reni and Braiths Podcast for the first time last night and I am not even Australian but I was livid to Hear how Reni was Done by the NSWRL. Hes been an ambassador for the NSWL doing community work for the community around mental health, the youth and at risk people. Just because he critiqued the Coaching of NSW he was Fired from the position. He has nothing to do with Selection, coaching of the team so why is he not allowed to critique how the team went and selection, coaching decisions? I was neutral but I really Hope Queensland gives the blues a hiding. Decisions like that make them look petulant, petty and childish, and weak!! Good on Braith for Speaking his mind and backing his mate because that was not on, disgraceful by NSWRL!!! Reni is 7ft tall in my book and a real good bloke it seems...
@DaMuss-t2tMal meninga had poor record as a nrl coach but look how he went with qld, barret could an amazing choice for nsw. I back it.
@cruzy-dan18:09 L1 from day 1 if we do the divisions you play your division home and away so 8 games and then you have 1 game against everyone else so 15 games and the makes 23 games total. Big difference with NFL play 17 games but have 32 teams so we could still play each team 1 time and our division 2 times. Maybe find a balance I don’t think the fans here will cop having a better record and missing final but it does build the rivalries
@stelvz2011Yeah that's right fella's .. just have a look at the Goat comparison video on Jordan and Le Bron.
It's on Ytube bout 40 min goes into all the Stats.. Game & Career records , it breaks down Analytics, Legacies.. it's pretty wild the detail.
And Jordan take him to the cleaners on just about everything 👍🏾
might be time to separate yeo and cleary, make Nathan captain to complete his alpha ascent
@MineLikeThese1i had titans in my top four they have a team there they just needed abit of luck and confidence and a 7 and i thought maybe ilias was the guy but this harrison looks the goods. but if they gett here tail up they got as much strike and creativity as the top sides its just weather they can be consistent yet . next year i reckon they will be primed
@Sub0x-x40Wonder what would be worse for Clearys legacy - going up there and losing a game or he gets injured this week and moses/strange go up and win without him 🤣
@fishor6527wahs 13+
@connorlhathawaynz north vs south island can rival origin if they embrace violence and have mad punch ons and make it spiteful and hateful thats what happened with origin., thats whats whipped the fanbases up over the decades. and that combined witht he best footy u see all year made it what it is
@Sub0x-x40If they choose Barrett, it’ll be another Queensland clean sweep😅
@LauFiuThis won’t get me to the golf day and I don’t watch American sports but fuck I hate the idea of divisions.

15:04 honestly always thought when it came to wether NZ got another side it was reliant on The Warriors Winning a Premiership as a indicator the country was taking it seriously in my own head though. But when it comes down to it looking at it and how it’s been, it’s always been the combination of more than just our own by ins but other players/coaches from offshore but deep in the trenches of this great game that will ultimately get us across the line. A new team as I see it now is on the NRL as a whole and hopefully in good competition with Union, not otherwise. Thanks for the Content what a Week always on always Levels.
@quatercirclestrife8260I'm surprised Mas forgot about Brad Thorn (crusaders champion)
I'm a L1 from day 1 and even before any levels. Was waiting weeks and weeks waiting from Hoz and Mas to return to the footy talk space between the YKTR and Levels transition as I build my own gardening business.
I am SO impressed with how you lads have created your own massive thing that is blossoming into the pinnacle of footy shit talk, with the perfect balance of player bias and genuine nuance perspectives of footy.
Much appreciated, from a young fella from hamilton, building my own gardening business and clientele over the past 4 years.
Cheers fellas, yous have gotten me through easily 100+ hours of jobs through building my business as I am often working alone and my rich clients are too busy to chat or not even in the country.
Shot bros for the solid pod!
UP THE WARRIORS 😝
Fellas - contrarian opinion here, the divisions or conference system is a gimmick, chasing to be like America. It’s rubbish. The best potential thing about 20 teams, IS finally having an even draw. 1 home 1 away for everyone. No more uneven “soft”, “hard” draws to fall back on. Every game counts, because you can’t blow an easy game without making a hard one back. When you have divisions with weak teams and weak conferences some teams get to rest players, schedule “losses”, it’s bullshit. As a 20 year NBA fan, I can’t tell you how many times the league has tweaked formats, and the serious talk of eliminating conferences for the playoffs to not have washouts and just have the best 16 teams. On the contrary- what is the absolute best way to have every regular season game be a must watch and must win, - the EPL team 1 home 1 away system! It’s the proof.
The conferences / divisions won’t eliminate travel but it will make some division golden and others shafted anyway. The NRL stuck the Perth spanner in the works in, (which I don’t think will work, side note) and they can just have Perth go on road trips few home , few away or something to compensate, but we’re so close to having a perfect format, please don’t blow it over a gimmick to be like US sports.
Lukey as a fellow Parra fan, we got to stick to together - get the lads to read this one next week, it’s an emergency!
If dolphins and knights both win this weekend , origin will costs us one of the best games over recent seasons. Hammer Herbie Bostock Katoa vs ponga best sharpe brown , throw into that the edges and packs . Could see a team score 40 and still lose
@KpongaisdaddyNorth vs south beef is worse than qld vs nsw. The north dont like the south as people not just sport. As a maori we were told were not welcome down there and alot of maori down there have had there culture taken out of them. Coming from the north. We never pop over to see cousin bla bla like in aus. We dont hav fam down there.we dont go down there ever.i have more love for aus than the south island forreal
@jcwalters9758Guys when are you going to have a crack at the rest of the spine and not just Cleary.
1 for 1. The only position we are stronger in the spine is 7. Moses at 6 is not better than Munster. Robson is not better than Harry Grant. Teddy is not better than Ponga.
Maybe if we could sort that out there wouldnt be so much pressure on cleary to do absolutely everything.
Boys, excellent work as always.
I agree with OG that the bonus the NRL has offered the Bears isn't very much, but in principle, I'm completely against it.
I hate the idea of Perth being able to gazump my club on a player we'd like to retain simply because they've been handed an unfair negotiating advantage. I hate this particularly when it comes to local juniors whom clubs have spent years developing.
Gus is right—it's a competition. It is not every other club's fault that the NRL is trying to start a franchise in a location without an existing base to build from, and where players don't really want to live or constantly travel to and from. Add to that the fact that we're currently in an environment where there simply aren't enough high-quality players to go around as it is.
My question for you guys is around the setup of the Bears.
How is it going to work with their Cup team being based in North Sydney?
Do you think Mal and the coaching staff will be flying back and forth between Perth and Sydney for Cup games and training sessions. How will they realistically stay across their depth and the development of those fringe players if they don't have eyes on them?
If you are a player on the cusp of the NRL looking at different clubs. Bears seem a tough sell to me, you could end up stuck in North Sydney. Whereas If you're playing for clubs like the Dogs or Eels, you'll be training with the big dawgs like Critta, the Foxx, Kikau or Junior etc.
And what if you're in the Bears NRL squad, but not in the regular 1-20 on game day does that mean you're flying to Sydney every week to play Cup?
It's hard to understand how this will work.
Chalk the conferences chat lads it would be so yuck. Hundred percent the best way to do it is a few more teams. Everybody play each other once, one year away one year Home less games per year better on the bodies, have a break mid-season for origin and Rep Footy. Sorted.
@kobithesurgeonThe south island team should be Te Waipounamu Taniwha
@svennz00South Crusaders 🤷🏽♂️
@Kainoa-b2oRe the Hockey comparison. State of Origin is EXACTLY like Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs. It’s red vs blue. It’s French speakers vs English speakers. My Mrs is from Montreal and we used to live there. It couldn’t any more the same, but this is during regular season games. For reference, souths vs easts pales in comparison to the rivalry. There is a genuine hatred. Btw. Sick vlog on nz. Gotta get over there.
@shiresmokersbbq8704Went to Christchurch in 2017 march and travelled around the bottom island in a hire van. Was one of the best holidays ever. Just behind Canada
@liampotter18When you arrive in Hawaii you get a lei around your neck. In Queensland you get a chip on your shoulder.
@JasonTribolet-d3uSouthern Stags has a ring to it
@Showup581Crusaders played the first game at super round and have played there I’d say a handful of times to finish their season, sold it out for every game too which was awesome to see, have seen a few posts around potentially getting a Richie statue there out the front, would be fitting but may also be weird considering he wouldn’t have played a game at the new stadium, some have said it’d be better placed at Eden Park in Auckland granted he lifted the World Cup trophy there, I believe cantabrians would be up in arms if this was the case. The Iceman Michael Jones currently has a statue at Eden park scoring the first try in World Cup history. Surely a statue of both Richie and DC out the front of the new stadium is the answer! À la Thurston outside QCB Stadium, he never played a game there but elevated the game in the region and the sport that’s being played at the new ground.
@Wahstaloved the content when you boys came to Christchurch, maybe next time hopefully catch you boys, but surely run club next time haha. love the poddy boys
