Fist off the United States doesn't need the Strait to get it's oil, not the us maybe others, but not us, but i think trump is either going to get a deal with in a week or he is going to go all in with military and just end it that way and take over the strait, remember Iran is running out of money and their oil can not be delivered and they can hold out for ever, once this happens their oil wells are damaged and they will be financially ruined so their regime is not going to be able to stay a float, so they will either make a deal or get take over.
Either way this will all end, But the quest is when, The US needs to make things happen either way NOW before fuel prices skyrocket to $7 or $8 per gallon.

The reason crude is being exported to other countries has a word, free market capitalism. Why would a company sell to USA for x when you have countries in Europe who will pay x*1.2. Drill baby drill was misinterpreted by many.
