the week of the roadtrip, we knew our chances were slim but we already booked our car and hotel with the goal of seeing ryuganbuchi. we still wanted to make the most out of it so we made a side trip to visit costco to see what snacks they have and try the food court!

I went to the toyoko inn 2 years ago. The pillow I think is made out of hay or something. The bed and pillows were rock hard and were very uncomfortable. Breakfast was great though. If the bed was better, it would have been an 8/10.

What intrigues me is how Wagyu beef commonly found in the better UK supermarkets completely lacks that distinct (and delicious) marbling of fat. They trade on the name alone and hope ignorant people will pay extra for beef that's essentially not any different to what else is on the shelves. I'd love to know more about how the Japanese create this magnificent fat marbling in the meat of their cows and how international breeders just cannot. What's going on with the Wagyu market?! I'd love to learn more.

I don’t understand why you have captions for things you aren’t saying out loud. I rented a car a couple of months ago, and I ended up having to rely on my tour guide for help with the checkout process since they didn't really speak English and my situational Japanese for this sort of thing is sub-par.
