But did the language barrier come into decision-making? Seems like itโs the most important thing thatโs why I will probably stay away from living in Thailand ๐คทโโ๏ธ

๐๐ i am very happy for you to check out the Thailand and being a Farang over there. the old timers i knew bounced around from Thailand Phuket area and the Philippines. they did this for decades until they finally passed on. i dont think they ever settled down? i cant remember. yeah i dont think they ever settled down. they lived in their 80's.....oh oh i take it back one of them did. he got married in the philippines and settled down there and passed on in the philippines i remember him telling people he will refuse medical care and just want to pass on quietly in his home which he did. if he need pain meds, that is all he wanted fromt the doctor. jajajajajajaja i too want to go out like that...enjoy life and pass on naturally.

Hope you do a video comparing BGC to the best neighborhoods/areas in bangkok as there seems to be no place like BGC in bangkok, meaning underground wires so no poles also no motorbikes, sellers, trash pickup on sidewalks, less pollution, etc as many people who lived in bgc go to bangkok thinking it will be as clean and clear and get surprised

The great thing about Bangkok is you can get anything you want times 100. I have lived here two years and I just love it. Way better than Atlanta where I am from.

Of course you're not going to say it was the wrong move. The real question is whether or not it reinvigorated your YouTube channel. No, it didn't, and it's probably due to Thailand. being the most oversaturated travel-vlog expat arena on the planet.

Dear friend, how much money do you spend on living in Bangkok, including everything? Thank you for your answer! Your vlogs are excellent!!

BKK is just too busy for my retirement tastes! Jomtien checks all the boxes for me! Itโs close enough to the nightlife that Central Pattaya and Bangkok have to offer!

Thailand is great. I really think it is the Buddha Religion. Of open minded, kind, friendly, respect. These things are so rare in the U.S.

I'm available for collaborations with travel brands, hotels, resorts, tourism boards, airlines, cafรฉs, restaurants, and travel gear companies.
Spot on Gio. Our schedules didn't match up to meet this trip.
Cost of eating out can be quite expensive in Bangkok but once you find the good places, it can be inexpensive.
Couple of issues I would add. Meat quality/cost is still a challenge for home cooking. Healthy food options is very low. Rice is often a staple food and is a high carb (sugar) food. Street foods are often fried in low quality oils and again very unhealthy.
People of Philippines are "friendlier" but Thai people seem much more respectful and genuine.
ONLY thing I miss about the Philippines is the adventure motorcycle riding in the beautiful mountains and coastal roads.

How much are the condo rentals?
More User Perspectives
Great to hear all the positives, Gio. Revisiting with old friends in the Philippines will be amazing and something to cherish. I like all the great Japanese restaurants in Ekamai.
@bryancole842For me Philippines is number one, far esier to live here, no language barrier, food much better for my diet, bascially far better country,, second for me would be Vietnam very livable, then maybe Japan & Taiwan. I've been to Thailand many times but for me I don't click there so its down the list for me.
@tomscott7013I guess you know, as another foreigner found out in the Philippines, you need to investigate any woman you want to marry.
@hail1524Youโve mentioned before that you miss hopping on a motorbike to get out into nature. You can rent a car and go for a week or two driving in the rest of Thailand. There are plenty of impressive national parks. Iโve been to a couple this weekend at the Thai-Laos border. You can drive just about anywhere in Thailand in 10 hours or so or fly and rent a car.
@martypollI hope you're move to your new condo goes smoothly Gio. I agree with you on the Philippines sidewalks besides BGC they are cracked and in bad condition. You have to look down a lot to make sure you don't fall
@AunoldTerminatorOlympia666Pickleball is a fad.. It will go out of style, just like it became trendy a few years ago.. learn to play tennis (singles tennis, I dont care for doubles), it's not that hard to learn, it's the best workout you'll ever have and having lived before myself in Thong Lor Bangkok, there are many amazing tennis facilities in the city . โ
@SwelteringChillLeave pickleball alone... not worth the possibility of knee or ankle injury
@eldouble_u4361Looking forward to your upcoming videos from the Philippines.
@Rob-i4g5gWhat is attracting you to ekkemai instead of Phra khanong? Seems cheaper, that condo was one I was looking at
@richardhogeland8597I've been in Thailand for a month and be here for another month and change, it will be hard to go home knowing I could live this lifestyle and quit the matrix whenever I want. Got everything I need just stalling
@richardhogeland8597A lot of working woman and college ladies take part in freelancing for extra money

@okwinyCongratulation on one year in Thailand! Looking forward to your Philippine-based videos as well! While I suspect life is great in your newest home, there is a question for me about quality of life without that special someone with whom to share those life experiences. Not necessarily suggesting marriage but someone who brings balance to your soul. They may be plentiful in Thailand but language can be a very powerful hurdle, even if you are patient. All my best and safe travels!

Did it make you humble?
The issue is Thailand is the women. Very hard to figure out who is genuine and not a working girl . Alot in the big cities have been ran thru.
@jamesalan1354Hey Gio, maybe you could consider taking us around town once in a while showing us your activities, etc. thanks
@kevinr8431This is crazy has it been 1 year already๐ฎ
@azamarabearThe Philippines is a lesser country everyone knows that but since English is widely spoken it's a first option. The nice thing about Thailand is nobody is going to slip a bullet in your suitcase and extort you like in Manila!
@Pocri485The soapy massages have you by the balls ๐๐
@Bluebird-farmHave a great day Gio!
@macretirementlifeVideos are better without the sunglasses, brother.
@vincentgray870You are an awakened man amigo. Very calm and in the present moment.
@josephcohen9480Hello Gio , I am watching your videos since Covid 19 . Another vlogger called " William Taudien just got his 5 years Visa in Thailand approved . Both of you are world travelers , It would be interesting if you could do a video together and exchanging point of views , regarding traveling and be in Bangkok or any other subjects . ( just a suggestion ) :)))) I cannot wait to see your new Condo in Bangkok next month. Keep up the good work Gio.:)))) Philippe from NYC.
@yomango35I much prefer Da Nang with excellent medical care, healthy food and healthy lifestyle, an excellent airport, and lots to do. Itโs a very easy place to live. Every thing works and itโs much cheaper than your Philippines and Thailand
@koufax174I love Bangkokโฆonly for visits. The air quality has put friends in the hospital and long term weakened their respiratory system. The traffic also is unbearable for me, to live there. I love to visit once or twice a year for a couple of weeks. My health and peace of mind are number one. My doctor said I practice โprotective healthโ.
@koufax174100% Thailand. Big Like!
Having been to both the Philippines(first) and Thailand(later) I agree and prefer living in Thailand.
The only thing I would change about Thailand would be to have an SRRV.
I have found the cost of living to be lower and value in Thailand to be superior.

@chocolatecookie8571Yes the condo life any where in thailand it has it all, the est country cleanest ,safest, and still cheap!
