Lou Malnati's is my favorite for deep dish pizza, but Giordano's, Pizzeria Uno, and Gino's East are also all excellent choices. My understanding is that Lou Malnati was a pizza chef at Pizzeria Uno when he developed deep dish pizza, and he later left to start his own pizzeria.

I've watched a lot of YouTube videos of people doing Chicago things and I have to say the way that you guys ordered your beefs was the closest to legitimate as I've ever seen. Although I'll normally get the giardiniera right on the sandwich. Other than that, hats off for doing it correct.

It's so interesting to hear young people talking about Chicago. Born and raised on the southside in 1958. Was a Chicago cop and retired from the Chicago fire department. Chicago is more beautiful than ever before but it has lost SO much character and its soci😊al structure is in tatters. Sorry to sound like an old bitter guy but I remember this city in the early 60s....till today.

Yeah, l figured out this transplant girl saying Lincoln park not knowing the city. I believe she was suggesting Wicker Park, which was never really Hispanic. Pollack and German growing up in the hood. Just look at the place names of the streets and Schools. The city was always changing the ethnicity of the hoods

Lincoln Park was NEVER a Puerto Rican neighborhood. I'm a born Chicagoan (1957) grew up in Logan Square and have seen All the neighborhood changes. You are getting some very flawed information. But it is the most wonderful town in the country.

In the 90s it was one of the top cities. Even in the 2000s. The media makes it look bad. There are very bad parts there are very good parts too.

So you went to the worst place to see baseball that I've ever been. Should have went to a White Sox game. 🙄

Does anybody actually enjoy a salad on a hot dog??? Just put ketchup on it. It will be okay.

Deep dish tomato soup? Hard pass... 🤮

Sorry, but deep dish pizza is tourist pizza. Chicagoans rarely ever eat it. 95% of the time we eat square cut, Tavern Style which a thin crust pizza.

I plan on going to Chicago this coming year (in May), and this video gave me some rough ideas on what to do and where to go! Thanks guys!

Nice piece. A couple other thoughts for anyone visiting our fair city: 1) Deep dish is fine but locals will always recommend a neighborhood place that serves tavern style pizza (very thin, cut into smallish squares so you can have pizza in this hand and beer in that hand). 2) Speaking of neighborhoods, the Loop and River North, where most of this is filmed, are visually spectacular but the neighborhoods are where you find gems that locals know about. For instance, there's blues at places like Buddy Guy's Legends (South Loop) and Kingston Mines (Lincoln Park), jazz at The Green Mill (Uptown) and MULTIPLE Michelin star restaurants in West Loop if you're attracted by The Bear scene (and have some money). 3) You skipped Second City. Maybe next time. Highly entertaining and you just might catch someone who'll be a household name down the road.

World class city unknown to the world. I am lucky to live here. Play beach volleyball just steps from a 1,000’ skyscraper. Lots of great restaurants, neighborhoods, friendly, normal people, diversified job market, sports activities, museums, bars and nightclubs, and on and on and on. Excellent suburbs. Yes, we have a winter, and don’t worry, you won’t be going to the bad neighborhoods anyway.

@privatename123

I don’t think I need to go to Chicago, I’ll stay in New York lol but great video!

@Itsnathalia_s

The City is bankrupt. Major companies have been fleeing for years. Your tourist perspective is fine, but the Chicago government is communist and has betrayed its citizens and just doubled their taxes to continue supporting a massive influx of illegal immigrants.

Thanks for such a great video showing off my home town! 😊 Chicago is the best most beautiful city in the USA.

Imo the museum of Science and Industry is the most fun of all the museums in Chicago, when I was in grade school we went there on field trips and as I got older it's still my favorite, also the Planetarium is great

@jefftucker9225
@

Being from Chicago I can say that we mostly eat thin crust pizza, of course maybe once or twice a year I'll get deep dish but it's not something I order every week

Born and raised there. Mixed emotions in today’s Chicago, but growing up there was great.
However I did notice she didn’t have that expensive camera draped around her neck when they rode the Brown line. Pretty and smart..

I enjoy visiting the Downtown Chicago areas since i was born and raised in the North Shore suburbs of Winnetka and i enjoy my new home in the Indiana Dunes. If you ever come back, please feel free to check out the Home Alone house in my hometown.

Bueller.

Bueller.

*Chicago dog is a garden, with a Vienna Beef or Red Hot. The Cities motto is Urbs in Horto, which is latin for City in a Garden.
So….. City in a Hot Dog
😂

Pequod’s, Pizano’s, Ranalli’s, Tortorices, Art of Pizza, Professor Pizza, Nick and Vito’s.
We do deep dish sometimes, mostly when people are in town. The locals go-to is tavern style square cut.

Sears Tower! correct.

i love the fact yall was at the crib!! i love my city

My favorite isn't a deep dish It's the thin Chicago pizza cut into little squares instead of triangles. There's hundreds of neighborhood pizza places selling a thin crust pizza in Chicago and they're all different and they're all delicious. But as far as thick pizza goes I like the Giordano's stuffed pizza. I grew up a couple blocks from where their first restaurant opened and have been eating it since the '70s. But the place you guys went Lou Malnati's is a very good choice. Delicious pizza.
