There hasn’t been tax withholding on chip payouts in decades. It’s too difficult to figure out what the “profit” is unlike a slot jackpot (jackpot minus the wager). And theoretically “casual” gambling winnings for foreign visitors aren’t subject to taxation, but“professional” winnings are. But that’s kind of a line where I’d think enforcement is pretty poor.
And the UK and Canada don’t tax gambling winnings at all. They don’t even require reporting, although large amounts of cash have to be declared at customs.

your experience with trying to reach someone in local government (in the US) is despicable. It's not a shock to someone like me, because I pay attention to these sorts of things, but this is a massive issue in the US

@tieflinglesbianI know it’s an old video, but seeing this just shows that whoever is governing the casino and gaming industry clearly doesn’t care about the rules they create. They’re the reason these issues exist in the first place. If there were no casinos, the problems would disappear, so their interests are obviously aligned with keeping casinos in business. After watching this, I’m completely put off going to the casino.

@vincam2628The gaming commissions don't really care either. They are as far in bed with the casinos as you can get. Every once in a while the commission will make the news where they ruled against the casino in a case, but it's just for publicity purposes only.
