Surprised the plane didn't have an emergency kit with a flare gun.

I am so grateful that these 3 men made it out...but I can't help wondering why they didn’t make a fire?😢 Sure it would have helped.

@dawnlauwrens3983

wow

@adddams
@

How is is possible that 3 men could not make a fire?!!

crashing twice poor guy, glad everyone was ok in the end, prepare for the worse when you go out doing these things you never know, 19 hours is horrific, but ppl on this channel have been out up to 90 days , its crazy

I burst into tears when Tommy said "It was an ACCIDENT. It wasn't your fault..." BRAVO to ALL these brave men! Thank you Lord, for saving them.

I've watched more than a few of these 'I shouldn't be alive' videos. Here's what's always missing. It doesn't take much to put this together! It's SO frustrating!
Space blanket sleeping bags
Rain ponchos
Thermal underwear
Cashmere
Tube tents
Laser Flare
Light Beacon
Signal mirror
Emergency whistle
Small Air horn
Compass
Three ways to make a fire
Wire saws
Pocket knife
Big knife
Bear spray
Glock 20
Collapsible water jug
Personal locator beacon
First aid kit

I feel like, initially staying still, building a shelter for the other two guys, a fire and a visible SOS sign seems like the best strategy.

@gilamnstr123

Negative 'what-ifs' do not help at all. They can actually be your demise.

Why don't people ever send a text message it will always go at some time

@Fivestarmail

If I survive 2 separate aircraft crashes in within 24 hours, moving forward, I'm not even jumping off the ground...

@YouAlreadyKnow83
@

Again, no smokers, so no one has a lighter :( Fire is essential. Everyone should carry a lighter

Amazing that Tommy was just bleeding profusely from his mouth the whole time 😂

Chopper crash 2x in 1 day is wild

@suhtangwong
@

Can someone tell me why starting the plane on fire would've been a bad idea?

@Cinn_Cinn-wtf
@

If only they had flares or some kind of a beacon that flashes or reflective west as a standard safety equipment in that airplane just like fire extinguisher, you gotta have those things

@albert-wg4cy
@

Why wouldn’t you get up & into a clearing on choppers first pass??

Why does the radio NEVER function??

Mountain rated small plane pilot here (182). Sudden downdrafts are a known risk in mountain terrain. There are 2 rules to follow to mitigate this that these good folks (maybe) didn’t follow. First, fly at least 2,000 feet over terrain when flying over a ridge. Second, always approach a ridge at a 45 degree angle so that a sudden downdraft can be met simply with a turnaround escape. Also, this was a 172 loaded with 3 big guys at high altitude. Its performance was going to be in the pits either way. Anyway, the pilot here still did a very good job of getting the plane down. Just that task alone took skill and calm thinking. They’re lucky. In 2026 you can also always fly with a PLB to contact help when stranded.

Gotta be a way to have a recorded flight plan that base knows about and stick to it. I would never do this without extra cover,especially wool socks and wool gloves.

That was a good one! High drama and all survived. That rescue team that tracked them down on foot was badass!

@aaronjaben7913

yo shout out to those rangers that found them, they set out in pitch black darkness on a mtn side and found them boys!

Huh,build a fire airplane fuel,,,, smoke signals, warmth.....?!!

@wilclaw665
@

When the helicopter went over them and couldn't see them I mean could they not see the freaking plane... Find the plane drop down and get down and walk around jump around get up get up and get down in shout

@Americanfromthegrind2
@

Tell you what whoever's going to do the walking needs to take the battery and the radio with them and get to a high ground or something what none of these guys in any of these episodes know how to do the simplest of things

@Americanfromthegrind2
@

I swear every episode is ridiculous. It's like what not to do

@Americanfromthegrind2

Justin- what a guy! That’s an amazing friend. Seriously, calm, collected, fierless

@Irish-ian9

I'm starting to think at least some of these episodes are made up. It's unfathomable how many of these rescues happen the miraculous ways they do.

What a story

@cdlu2.028

26:15 worlds longest phone number

@allenstyer205
@

Many of these stranded cases don't have signal Munition or anything to make rescuers see or hear them, also no Proviant or meaningful things to stay hydrated in desert and warm in freezing cold

@sitagarg4238
@

Am I the only one thinking, "set the plane on fire" would create a massive signal and keep them warm for one night
