You say it was written for a hebrew culture. It was also written for those who would come after by those within a hebrew culture. God intended his people to be made up from every nation tribe and toungue but the jews were entrusted with the words of God. Part of that was that they would look at the law, and their history and write about how they saw the things they inherited work out in their everyday lives. There were a core of people that looked forward to God fulfilling his promises and they kept the messsianic hope alive.

Madison, I have an experience that I did not understand.. it happened in in 2017 (I got possessed) and from 2018-2022 God had been cleansing me, restoring my spirit and soul. At one of the evenings, in the very beginning of my deliverance (Jesus Christ came down to hell, to the cell where my soul was chained up; and He lovingly Witnessed to my soul, until I got saved, praise Jesus!)
As I was reading the word of God, it was (and still is!) hard to remember, or understand, what I had been reading. At some point, I remember hearing The Holy Spirit instructing me to write a Bible verse on a paper: roll it up and eat it…
I got this fear coming over me, somehow thinking this is not of God… and I did not follow the instructions…
I think I cried if fear of angering God, and I actually stopped reading the Bible for many years after that.
Then a youth pastor came to our home. ( I was still very depressed at that time). We were all praying and I was praying in tongues… After the prayer he said that God will punish me for faking. He said I was praying in demon language trying to pass it off as the Holy Spirit… since then I had been trying to stifle the tongue… but when I pray, and get filled with Gods love and light, the tongues take over … recently I am giving more freedom , as I want to believe that it is the Holy Spirit.
I have to say this: I love Jesus Christ with all my heart! I love The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit! I’m in awe of the wonderful work that God does in people…
I have finally accepted Jesus Christ’s forgiveness of all my sins-
And want to be God’s Anointed warrior 🙏
Do u think it was scripture based when I heard the instructions to eat the word of God?
Do u think I have the gift of tongues?
Do I have the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
I hope you see this, Madison.
It is hard to rely on what I believe is from Jesus. At same time, I have this feeling inside of my heart: that Jesus Christ has a path for me to follow and it is anointed by Him.
I keep praying for salvation of my children; and Every Single Person, in Jesus name.🙏❤❤❤

I started late in reading the Bible at 56 years old, finished the whole book earlier this year using the Bible Recap chronological reading plan. I am recircling back using the 365 Heart Dive plan. Just recently discovered Grant Horner's reading plan which I absolutely love and wholeheartedly recommend. 10 chapters a day with 1 section each from NT, OT, Psalms, etc. It's now a lifelong reading plan for me.

I do have a question in regards the “first mention” especially when it comes to speaking in tongues. Can you please direct me to somewhere in OT that is an example of that so that I am able to see that in the NT?
I tried and tried and tired praying in tongues and it didn’t happen for a long time. Just a couple of months ago it started happening. After I was able to start praying in tongues I was seeing or hearing how it is no longer applicable and that it ended with the Apostles.

I have a question in regard to women preaching, I grew up as a baptist and we believe that women cannot preach only men. I read about Deborah on the Bible although she didn’t preach she was a great leader used by God in that specific time, so I believe that women can be used greatly especially preaching the word of God. Am I wrong? I like listening to some sermons given by some women. Could you help with this?
