So what would a 2022 pro as heck Master Yi guide look like?

Revive is no longer in the game, so Ghost is a reasonable alternative.

"There are also runes" followed by an awkward silence (F in the chat for masteries), "but you don't need them".
The game will probably still pick default runes for Yi, though...

About the evil forest:
Stone Bros. - still in the game but now reproduce faster.
Rude dudes - RIP, replaced by some chickens.
Dog - grew a second head.
Boss battles - lost their underlings but are otherwise identical.

About the build:
Wriggle's Lantern is long gone and there is no attack speed item that builds from Cloth Armor... But, Yi can still build fast items with his clothing, those being Turbo Chemtank and/or Dead Man's Plate.

Rad Scythe is still in the game. Can build into Blade of the Ruined King, which is probably the closest item to Wriggle's Lantern.

Move Really Fast Boots - still in the game.

Doublesword is still in the game and may allow for a very economic build.

This is the complete build:

Wow. The build only really lost one sword but it doesn't matter, the item update was still very kind to Yi.

Technically, you can upgrade your Doubleswords but that would cause you to have less swords and that would be a not so pro as heck build.

Those items are:
Rapidfire Cannon - allows Yi to dish out ranged hits via cutting edge Bluetooth technology.
Phantom Dancer - it doesn't make you any stronger but it turns you into a good dancer and that's classy.
Mortal Reminder - to remind your allies and enemies that one day we are all going to die.

there's so much history in this video. Master Yi used to be one of the few characters that could jungle while not being super dependent on runes/masteries, so the part where he says "you don't need them" is technically true. i think Yi and Warwick were the only champs that were truly viable to jungle on a fresh account (though back around the time this video was new it wasn't uncommon to not have a jungler in your normal games)
