When we used to be debt free East York, once a year a crew would come around and remove growing weeds along the curbs und sweep. The same in the winter. Crews would clear the snow around parked cars with shovels, pick it up and dump it in the valley. Also, the mayor was approachable without much fuss to voice ones concern. That's all gone, but our property taxes are at least double since then.
Plus, now, to park in front of ones house on the street, a 1 year permit costs $277 to $1,120.00.
Before amalgamation in 1998 East York had 8 part time councillors earning $12,500 each per year.
Now, those mostly same councillors with the same responsibilities in the same Wards, get now as Toronto city councillors, like the rest of those subhumans, a $170,588.60 salary, a 24% increase over the previous year (f..king, narcissistic bastards) plus $60,053.24 for their budget to be spent as they please.
This, then comes to no ones surprise, is the reason, besides the nepotism and back door dealings that go on, that Toronto has and continues to accumulate an ever higher deficit.

Pros: night life, always something to do, work/life balance.
Cons: too crowded, most people in Toronto are arrogant and snobbish, cluttered transit, transit system always has a delay and poor planning, toxic work environments, supervisors are beyond ego driven.

I would like to add one more v. important pro of Toronto. The city is sparkling clean. It was striking to me on many, many occasions when I was visiting. I remember once I was in China Town when everything was open there, very, very busy, packed with shoppers. The neighbourhood was a bit messy and stuff lying about as everybody was focused then on serving people and doing business. When on a different occasion I was passing through after dark when business were closed, streets were impeccably clean and tidy. No garbage. All recyclables neatly packed placed outside shops awaiting collections. The whole neighbourhood was sparkling clean. And mouth watering stake, birthday cake and iceberg lettuce salad .. of course the KEG !! 😀 Thomas, Vancouver. Another great video, Fillip.
