I would say the worst disadvantage is the multi culture. I love different cultures but I prefer to keep them inside each country. If I visit Japan for example I want to experience Japanese culture. Not some Western culture. Multiculturalism erodes the unique and interesting part of each country and its community. So do you think the reason it might work in Singapore could be that it functions more like a temporary working hub for most people?

5:47 - For beaches don't people just fly to Thailand or Indonesia? or is that not practical?
6:33 - Maybe its different in Singapore, but when i visited Malaysia and Thailand, I saw the malls as a way to escape the heat. Even just walking around or sitting down inside the mall itself was nice. I didn't buy anything

Welcome to choose to stay/live in my country Singapore island. This was my first time seen your video sharing and I appreciated you for sharing it with other foreigners about it. I agreed that there were pro & con. Yes regarding about Shopping Malls in Singapore, as for me when I compared it with Bangkok city Singapore were/are not as many as in Bangkok city every where within just Siam area and also to other area like in Sukhumvit area surrounded with many shops/outlets & big Malls too. I had been there and was surprised.

Ich lebe in Deutschland ich würde niemals nach Singapur einreisen weil mir die Gesetze dort nicht gefallen und weil es einfach zu warm ist hier gibt es auch viele geschäfte , der Supermarkt ist nah , es ist sauber man hat Freundschaften ,

Wow, this brought lots of memories. I visited Singapore and stayed for almost a month back in 1992. My friend and I almost considered to move here from Canada as the IT employment opportunities were very hot in those days. I was so glad I didn't move there. It wasn't so much about the climate nor the issues with mosquitoes (yes we were very scared about the deadly outbreaks back then); it was mostly with the people. As a Mexican-Canadian I did feel the racism despite Singapore's tolerance of other races and multicultural aspect. Will not get into details but I knew others (white folk) who fared much better and were better treated. Surprisingly I made new friends quite easily with expats such as Japanese visitors and the local Malays who I found them super friendly. Maybe because I was hanging around with my female friend who's Chinese the people gave us some 'funny' looks. That was my perception when I visited in the early 90's. I found your videos fascinating. I hope to visit Singapore one day. I am sure things have changed a lot from 30+ years ago. Thank you.

Ok I get it that you want to describe the pros of moving to a place but why bashing a next one especially if it is an experience that is clearly not general. Lady, I I’m French and live in Paris and don’t get what you’re talking about. There are many baos with extended open hours so if you came at the exact time the teller was on lunch break well yeah it would be a problem. However, you can choose to come earlier in the morning before heading to your office or in the afternoon after you leave work. Better yet, you can book an appointment. All French banks are online so you may not even need to physically to the bank to open an account. If you want to compare things try and compare systems on the same period of time.

How bad is the see ? I live in Dubai and swimming every weekend is my greatest happiness here. I m considering moving to Singapore and I have never thought the sea would be polluted c😭 This would be a terrible disillusion for me 😭
